I'd agree that this show, and all the idols try to push people, but i've been going through all the songs Jay sang on the show and the only ones that were strange to hear him sing were Lady Gaga and Frank Sinatra. This and all the rest are in the zone for him

If selling out means signing with producers to produce music we wouldn't have any music at all to listen to except random people on the street. When you enjoy something wouldn't you want to share with others so they may enjoy your music and support your musician. I think selling out with be saying one thing and then doing the opposite or not sticking to your own set of rules but rules change with time and depending on the person.
