This was the only performace that FELT like a grammy performance which was the challenge. I feel like he got robbed for that fact alone but I'm not mad that DreTL won. For every performance he got 0 crtiques with the only thing close being that he looks like he could do more. He went into the finals to show various flavors and killed it. I personally think he is the embodiment of the DJ Khaled meme - this dude suffered from success. He was soo good that he was almost not memorable as a "contestant" because he seemingly had no flaws. I feel like he needed someone like Rhome to have elevated this whole thing from the DreTL levels that the judges were stuck on. Last year, D Smoke was so good and he won for me with pure ingenuity. His lyricism, integration of the piano and Spanish was genius, but his competition were still strong contenders that I would argue his artistic direction won him the show. This year felt like it was Jay Taj in S tier, then everyone else was just B tier. They were forgetting lines, inaudible, out of breath, off beat, etc.... don't even get me started on Sura Ali... or why DJ Khaled took a picture with Diamond. That being said though, I do get why DreTL won. His speaking and rap style is what's in these days (not a fan) so I guess I get it. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Mr. 4.0 college boy didn't forget his lines in the rap battle.

Winning the show ain't even the point-Jay got what he needed: a solid fan base. Man's already a winner, no doubt about it. This ain't the last time we're hearing his name, trust that. Look at Jennifer Hudson-she didn’t take the crown, but now she’s a straight-up legend. Big up yourself, Jay! You’ll be pulling in way more than $250K before next year wraps. Just keep it humble and stay shining, bro! One ❤❤❤

Winning the show is the point they just killed the one rap competition tv show that started off with a great season 1 and decided to throw it all away in season 2 to pick the winner themselves over what culture was feeling the shows fanbase you might as well be drake suing kendrick or Lil Wayne crying over kendrick fuck out of here Rap deserves better

Honestly yes the reward for the competition is 250k but that is it just money and the judges has say it just because you lose don't mean anything because getting into the show means your already a star and the spotlight on you but the end if you win or lose is about networking , is about what they do to further there career with the 250k or none. The Jay Taj performance was immaculate but at the same time the little flaw was that made him lose he had to many on one song and there were moment you will not be able to catch on the first heard.
