I'm thankful I got to see Jay live in March at Melbourne Knotfest, I can rest easy knowing I got to see that legend live in the flesh- his precision, poise and creativity elevated The Knot more than anybody could ever hope to achieve. It's a hot take but Jay Weinberg WAS SlipKnot for the last 10 years, he threw is heart and soul into that band literally since he was a little kid. It's bittersweet, they booted both drummers who both ended up being generational talents for the same band- but I know Jay will be an upgrade for literally any band he decides to play on with, he's still young in his music career and I have nothing but love for him, he got me started in drumming.

Besides there isn’t anything any of us can do about it. This was a clear decision made by the members of Slipknot. We could complain as much as we want but nothing is going to change. I do think AJs reason for not making a video on this subject is very understandable. If I was Jay, I wouldn’t want my friend, to make a KZbin video on my departure from one of the biggest bands on the planet. But us as Slipknot fans, all we can do is wait and see what happens next.

I honestly find it insane that some people get so enraged when a creator says they don't want to make a particular video. First off, it's not like it's a debt the creator doesn't owe anyone any particular video. Secondly, it's not their channel so after a certain point viewers can't really control what videos get made and what videos don't. There's nothing wrong with wanting or wishing or even requesting for specific content creators to make a specific video or piece of content. However, don't go so far that the boundary for entitlement territory gets crossed because nothing good comes from that. For example, with the Jay situation it does make sense for people to want or request for AJ to make a video on it but that doesn't mean AJ is obligated to make said video. The reasons for him not wanting to make a video on the Jay situation are pretty obvious if you ask me so it's wild that this video is even necessary. This all just feels like blatant common sense but I digress. The biggest stand out part to me in all this is AJ's respect, professionalism, and valuing the genuine relationships that he has over valuing revenue capitalization. It speaks volumes about AJ's character that AJ would not want to capitalize and monetize this situation that involves a good friend of his aka Jay. You have to give AJ massive respect for taking that stance because in this day and age people will resort to some pretty scummy as well as horrendous tactics like sacrificing relationships to make money. I can't say that everyone would be willing to take the same stance as AJ especially since this situation is as shocking as it is. Anyways, rants and rambling about the insanity of all this aside. I personally have massive respect for AJ for taking the stance that he has, the reasons for him doing so not only make a ton of sense but are also pretty obvious, and at the end of the day this speaks volumes about AJ's character. We've also learned that common sense is not very common anymore and that's a very scary fact.
