As a habs fan, i'm hoping Chicago picks the dman but Demidov wont make it to the 5th pick anyways. I still think Chicago needs a good dman and should draft one. Don't build like Toronto.

The real question is. What do you do with Seth jones contract once you have to pay bedard and some other players big money. Jones will still have 4 years left on his contract. I’d hate to see them package picks or prospects to unload him. Hopefully he maintains some level of production and the cap keeps going up diluting that 9.5 million hit to the point where they can tolerate it.

Demidov won't even touch NHL ice for 2 years because of his contract.. You need sooooo many pieces to fall into place to become a Stanley Cup contender. Player development, great draft picks, free agent signings, blockbuster trades, 2 standout tenders, a good culture, plus good luck to stay healthy.. Thinking that this team suddenly competes in 3 years is nuts. Toronto, NJD, and Edmonton are proof that you can have an incredible roster and never come close to winning. We're at least 6ish years away
