How in the hell you create these sounds with these synths. Can't imagine how much tweaking you had to do. Incredible, great work.
@looneyburgmusic3 жыл бұрын
Programming Korg synths which are built on the ai2 engine such as the X5-series really is not as difficult as you might think. Hardest part is learning where everything is in the settings, which can be really annoying if you don't have a PC based editor. But once you learn just about every Korg PCM synth from the M1 to the HD-1 engine on the Kronos becomes your friend - at their core they all work the same way, with each new generation just adding more things to tweak :-)

This soundset is literally the only reason why I haven't switched from X5D. I play in an electronic-rock band, we use a lot of EDM and Trance stuff, and if I would upgrade to anything better I would loose these sounds which are absolutely essential to me. Thank you for these magical sounds. My upgrade options are the synths you use, haha, since they have those amazing soundsets.

1992, I started interning with a friend of my father's who ran a 16 track studio. He had one keyboard workstation: a Yamaha V50. He let me take it and the manual home every night for a week. I started programming my own sounds with it, layering sounds and "putting it to work." I told him I can't believe a studio only has one keyboard. His reply? "It's not what you have, but what you do with what you have." Don't underestimate the little modules. I don't anymore.
@mark120119726 жыл бұрын
I had only a Korg 05RW and Yamaha CS1x/2x, and the 1990s went to Sam Ash and talked to the sales rep and enthusiastically pressed play on my walkman and let her listen to my sounds. She was like, if you send the tape to a studio they might hire you. I really never pursued it, but I still have the sounds she listened to and some more. Learning how to program crap keyboards teaches you to be really an expert at pulling out the sound. So when I was exposed finally to powerful keyboards it was like Boom! I quickly figured out what the keyboard was good at, focused on that, and kept hammering away at its strengths and finally it gave away the beauty. Yes, don't ever let a module fool you. Inside that little box is power.

@@BoeingJetTech Always looking for that 'better sound' until I discovered that I can modify my equipment (replace capacitors and audio outputs). Some of the outputs on my rack mixer are much brighter and clearer (the ones I replaced) and then I realized that the metal inside the jacks probably no longer makes as good connection from years of plugging and unplugging cables. I have no fear and take apart everything I own and has worked great for me. Today I ordered thirty 3Pin 1/4" 6.35mm Mono Phone Jack / Jack Socket, and my cheap rack mixers are going to get some new outputs. This is what I'm now doing to get further sound improvement in my studio. Also maybe replace the capacitor in my 80s cabinet speakers but I'm kind of lazy, don't much feel like moving those dern things.

Danke! :-)
