For anyone stuck at 7:20 because slottool isn't there, I found a way to get it to show up. When you download the files for super-skaterhax make sure you get the newer version AND the older version. For whatever reason the 3ds folder that contains slottool isn't included in the updated version but you can just copy that 3ds folder from the old one with the rest of the files and it should show up after that

for anyone having a problem with A) having an error after scanning the qr code to get into the website and B)not finding the slot tool below homebrew, its simple.(A) if you see an error simply make sure that you have put in the exact date on your ds and follow a tutorial on how to update your ds into the newest version as well as making sure you specifically press the home button after clicking on cookies and not anything else, that worked for me and i hope it works for you as well.(B) for anyone who cant find the slot tool, you have to make sure to copy slot tool to the 3ds folder on your sd card, double check if its in the 3ds folder as it is weirdly supposed to be there for some reason and before that even you have to make sure that the slot tool is even in any files to begin with. hope this helps.

Thank you for giving me the disclaimer to read the region changing disclaimers before committing! The whole point of why I wanted to homebrew was to be able to download and use pokemon bank more conveniently, but it gave the warning that the eshop not working would not allow pokemon bank to work, so I decided against the region change right before committing to doing that. I have a different proper region DS I will be homebrewing instead now.

I’ve been getting an error code after the browser, but after watching this I realized my date was set way back. Hopefully changing it will fix this. Will have to see later 🤞 Edit: it’s later, it took me a few attempts to finally get the homebrew menu to boot, I believe setting the time may have fixed it a little. I also believe it was just a combination of that and timing on pressing the buttons. This isn’t the first time I’ve hacks a 3ds but it’s my first Japanese one. I don’t really know what the issue was as I’ve never had to spend and hour just to get this menu to boot up. 🤷🏽

@@ArkhamPanda I set it to my region although the few hours/ single day difference wouldn’t mean anything. It really just has to be the current year. My 3ds sent itself back all the way to 2012 and that’s why it didn’t work. Anyway just set it to whatever time/ day it is where you are, it’s more important for games that sync up to current time like animal crossing (more important for you if you wanna do the in game events and such).

yeah well that's what the final update did to everyone, Nintendo pushed it to try and brick people's modded systems. I had a modded one though and in my case all I did was update Luma and update the system I think and it was and still is modded and works, but yeah from scratch now = pain

Overall not a terrible guide. However, you fail to mention some crucial information, skip over steps and forget that not everyone has done this process between 30-50 times. I managed, however, had to find the slot_tool myself and figure out that I need a torrent client for the region change. Maybe re-do this guide and go through all the steps, I'm sure some people who couldn't find the right information are still stuck on the missing slot_tool step.

Love the video! I did half the mods from that website a year ago on my Japan model and I couldn't get a US game to load, I dont think I did the mod right. I cannot remember where I left off but the mod was different, I had to do tricks with the friend ID. Would it be okay to redo all these steps fresh from the start of this video? 8:15 im missing the Sighaxed FIRM file. How do i get that one? What did I miss? EDIT!! I fixed it we're all good. If anyone is having this same error check that the bootstrap files are in their respective folder. Mine id missed when I was copying things over and that was the issue

fun fact i just bought a New 3DS LL that had parental controls and that trick to unlock didn't work. sooo i had to brute force it unlocked. It was a pain. Took a whole day of traying about 1200 of the 10000 different protentional passwords.

Appreciate your efforts to produce this video, but I think you should've specified it only works on the "new 3ds" models. I tried it with my original model 3ds, didn't work, I assumed it was because it had an older firmware, so I updated it and got stuck on 1.17 and I am unable to hack it now. Not blaming you for it as it was of my own stupidity, it's just I could've avoided getting there if I knew this was for the New models.

​@@nathangonzalez1378 Internet archive just google FBI.cia Internet archive and FBI.3dsx Internet Archive etc, any other files you struggle with google and it will point you towards some old ds forums or reddit where some one will have a zip file somewhere.

Do the steps on this tutorial work for changing the 3ds European region to US? Or does something change entierly? Edit: I changed the region from European to US successfully if you read the written guide everything will be ok :)
