Hey there! We are graduating students from the George Brown College Fashion program, and we are proud to present our virtual event we have directed and produced in collaboration with a local hat designer, Jay Cheng of Jaycow Millinery.
As one of few existing milliners in Canada with more than 25+ years of craftsmanship, our team was very fortunate enough to create this (virtual) event with the brand!

My favourite thing to learn about is the history of block. Love how milliners work on the same block and are able to pass them along. SO many designs from one tool.

What are my thoughts on Jay's studio? 19:49 The wall with many hat blocks is incredible. I believe each block has its own background and story. 31:25 the wall of the hats is like an exhibition, amazing! What are my thoughts on Jay's hats? Jay gave lives to her hats, like a mother telling the birth of her child. Through Jay's rich experience and careful production, every hat is unique! Learned knowledge in different fields through this video!

Wow! Am an intermediate milliner is Lusaka, Zambia. My challenge is getting tools and blocks as there are no Milliners of old here. I like how you said you shop from those that are closing or getting out their old stock. I would like to know where to sourse the straw hats like the one you're making in the video.
