This is an earlier episode I completely forgot about, so you know I had to cover it, it is arguably one of the episodes that kept the show in the mainstream because of how crazy things got at the confrontation. If I'm not mistaken, this is the very first episode where someone got the paws put on them, so the cast was clearly unsure of how to handle it. This episode is underrated, and rarely discussed, so of course I had to bring it to you. I think how sympathetic Nev and Max are is relative to how sympathetic they personally find the participants - especially in situations where they don't feel empowered to just directly call bs or confront the participant because they either need to keep the story going or the participants are kind of unhinged but will likely stay calm if they stay calm. You can always tell when they don't really *like* the participants but also don't want to lean into a villian edit arc either.

My controversial opinion about this episode is that......did Ana potentially sexually assault Joanna? Like Ana catfished Joanna, manipulated her and hooked up with her multiple times under false pretenses. If Joanna wanted to press the issue could she not have cited that as sexual assault?? I feel as thought that part is NEVER addressed and while I am not saying Ana is some sort of person that does this serially by the most technical definition she did VERY awful things to Joanna and, to me, that is worth the major slap IMO 🦌 That said, in a second follow-up in a special with a few follow ups and they ended up, at least at that time, going out on a date after being reunited that time so who knows - they could either have flamed out or are still together now.
