It is November now and I just now started with this year's calendar blanket! With any luck I will get this done next year. So far, the May granny square is my favorite! So simple and so expressive. I did mine in one color.

❤looks great why 1 row has 2 in corner another row has 3 in corner
@JaydaInStitches7 ай бұрын
Hi Eleanor, in order to 1) keep the correct stitch counts per row, per side and 2) to not overcrowd the corners depending on the stitch pattern 😊

The color combination possibilites are as infinite as this pattern is. :D I absolutely love the Halloween themed square! I'm curious if starting a row in a corner makes any difference from starting anywhere else?
@JaydaInStitches7 ай бұрын
Hi Jane! I find it depends on how you want to use colours. If you start in a corner, and you're NOT changing colours, you can always just slip stitch into the corner at the end of the row and start the new row from the corner instructions.
@dianagonzalez67697 ай бұрын
Wow this is great. Do you have this in a rectangle tutorial?
@JaydaInStitches7 ай бұрын

Hi Jayda. I hope you can help me. When I crochet my granny squares together to make a blanket I love the way it looks. But when I go to put on a border I don’t understand what to do when I get to the raised part at the junction of each square . I don’t know how to incorporate that into the border Can you help?
@JaydaInStitches7 ай бұрын
Hi Deborah, it depends on if you need the junction to get a smooth border or a particular stitch count. If the junction really sticks out, then you can crochet right into it (right into the seam, I do that all the time) but if it will throw off your counts, you can skip over it and use the spaces on either side instead. I typically treat the seam between squares as a stitch to either be used or ignored, depending on what my border pattern requires. The border will cover the seams either way, so unless your stitches are too stretched across them, or using them makes your stitches bunch up, it's entirely up to you how you want to treat them 😊
