I tell people who are struggling to understand a pattern to always check out your channel. You really have a way of explaining things that makes it easy to understand and remember. I've done tunisian honeycomb before and never could get the hang of which part of the stitch pattern I should be doing next (especially at the ends/beginnings of rows). I'm looking forward to giving this a try again after watching your excellent video and explanation.

I love the look of this block and I’m enjoying learning more about Tunisian crochet. Thanks so much for your great tutorials! I can follow you better than anyone! I’ll have to say I struggled with this block. I have so much trouble keeping track of where I am! I think that’s just my weakness overall! I love to do patterns that I can take time to learn and then work somewhat “mindlessly” on the project to finish up. I could not do that with this stitch! Beautiful pattern and I’m happy to have learned it though! Thanks so much!

OMG! This Honeycomb stitch has taught me a much easier way to do the Purl!! I struggled with it so much last month because the putting the yarn to the front after each stitch felt so unnatural. It just did not flow smoothly and I was so slow. It took me all month to finish it because I put it down after every 1 or 2 rows and moved on to something else. 😥 Now that every other stitch is a Simple Stitch I just learned to wrap the hook around from the front to go under the next vertical bar for the Purl and still keep my working yarn in the natural position! This feels so much better!! It has a natural rhythm to it and it's moving along smoothly. I'm so excited!

Being a beekeeper, I was really excited to learn April's Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch! However, I am extremely challenged when it comes to numbered and to repetitive tasks. It took me way to long to realize that the stitch names begin with my initials! Since I am making 4 of these blankets at the same time ( three with squares measuring 10" x10" and one 12" x 12") being able to repeat my initials for each stitch pattern really helped! I just repeat P S, P S, P S, P S, ... ! Thanks so much for this Tunisian Calendar Blanket. I'm really loving it! You are such a great teacher.

Had a hard time getting started with this block! I th9nk I ended up starting and then three of four rows later, I was totally lost! Frogged it, then started it again - three times!!! Got it started again, slow crocheting, for probably 6 or 8 rows, and totally focused on each stitch and FINALLY got the hang of it. Still had to focus but not on every stitch. Was able to see what stitch was where and if I did need to frog anything it was only 2 or 3 stitches. Finished the block last night. I'm afraid I may have to go back and redo the border! I think I forgot to use front loop only on the right side! But no big deal. Happy with the honeycomb look now! Thanks.

I've fallen in love with the Purl stitch to be honest, and went and bought some circular needles over the weekend. I'm completely lost, lol Maybe you can do a tutorial on that one of these days that would be amazing! I've already made the cowl using needles you have on your channel. Would love to do a hat or scarf! 🧶 🧶Back to today's tutorial, I noticed the purl stitch is shorter and tighter on the next row, while the simple stitch is longer. This is helping me along. Thank you again and have a great weekend! ❤️☕❤️☕
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Afroditi! * waves madly * Oooh, circular needles! I've made a couple of projects using them (to actually work in a circle) and once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed it. I find the biggest struggle is keeping the stitches relaxed so they don't tighten down the wire and make it difficult to get the needle back into. Also, if you've not got enough stitches, that whole circular thing can be a real pain, if the wire is too long!

I'm a bit confused about something. One of the things I love about crochet is that there's always more than one way to achieve the same outcome. But I'm not sure why you don't bind off the live Tunisian stitches before adding your single crochet border, either with a slip stitch bind off, or an in pattern bind off? It's the first time I've come across this. Thank you 😊.

I did the first two squares, then decided I’m going to wait till November and make a scarf with the stitches. I want to learn the stitches but I’m not in love with the squares. I actually like waiting till the end of the year and doing the calendar blanket all at once, anyway.

Like the idea of a scarf!

I love the idea of a scarf. I like the simple and the whole stitch. I didn't even get into the purl stitch. I'm trying to clean up some projects and then of course I have more projects coming in the mail

I made a baby blanket years ago using the Tunisian simple stitch, and it was about 5 scarf-length or shaped (bc not quite as long as a scarf lol). I know better now how to make sure there are the same # of stitches in each row & to keep them all identical thx to Jayda.😃

Hi Diane, I love Matilda's idea! It's a great way to practice and you have a functional item when you're finished!

I love this stitch! What yarn do I use?
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer! I am using size 4 medium weight acrylic, but you could use cotton or blends too 😊

Do you think you'll be doing other projects in Tunisian after the blanket is done?
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
Definitely! I'm really enjoying using these hooks and stitches 😊

Even rows start with simple stitch and odd rows start with a purl stitch?
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Even rows begin with a TSS and odd begin with a TPS (ignore the first loop on the hook which is always a TSS by default).

How are things going to work together when even though my stitches count are on track the size in inches is WAY DIFFERENT.
@JaydaInStitches2 жыл бұрын
I'm blocking each square as I go, using January as the size template. Blocking will get them to be exact or very close, and after joining, we can block again and it will work out 😊

What happened to May 1st Tunisian calendar blanket monthly . It’s not even in any of the videos on here. Waiting for this next square.

Hi Jill, every Calendar Blanket square goes up on the first Friday of the month. April's Friday just happened to be the first 😊

The purl stitch last month was by far my least favorite crocheting experience. 😥 The keeping the working yarn to the front felt so unnatural and it just didn't flow well for me. Hopefully it will get better with this one.

Hi Karen! I felt exactly the same way when I was learning the purl stitch in knitting! It drove me nuts and it took a while before my hands found a natural way to bring the yarn forward and just get used to it. It will take a little bit, but the truly nifty visual results are worth it!
