I have to think that the US Soaps would not be in as much trouble as they are now if they were as well done as Emmerdale. One thing I love about this soap vs US ones, people actually talk to each other. On a US soap, Jerry would have never admitted he told Aaron to stay away right off. He would have done it months later after Aaron and Jackson were well over, and it was too late. Paddy and Hazel rock. Danny Miller continues to impress every day.

I feel encouraged by Hazel's words, but I'm afraid it may take more than words to get Jerry out of the way and let Aaron comfort Jackson. In all this time that Jackson has been lying in a coma, he has yet to hear Aaron's voice. This is not good. Jackson needs to know at whatever subterranean layer of consciousness he's capable of that Aaron is there for him. Jerry should go home to his wife and baby. Jackson needs Aaron, not some self-righteous sorry excuse for a father.

I just had a thought,watching this again (and again and again - LOL). But I see a SL developing that might just "force" Aaron to admit his feelings. Scene: Jerry goes to talk to Aaron and asks, "Hazel says my son loves you, and, you need to be by his side. Is that right?. Do you love him?" - forcing Aaron to admit his feelings. Did anyone else catch that - or think that is the lead-in to the new storyline?

There is no stronger bond in the world than a mothers love for her child (boy or girl-gay or straight). I really haven't cared for Hazel's character up to this point. UNTIL NOW. Good for her for putting that stupid ass (Gerry) in line. Maybe Paddy was a lioness in a past life. Now if she could only whip Aaron's ass (as cute as it is) into shape.
