Phú Mỹ Hưng in District 7, Trung Sơn in District 8. ..aslo rich place. Phú Mỹ Hưng is like Euro or Us more than Sài Gòn. But for me I love District 1 coz it is friendly and rich people with poor people can connect together easily.

i dont know you are still in Thao Dien now, but if you are still here, you should find the way to a small park inside the Thao Dien which opposite the Starbuck and at the corner of GS25 going straightforward, you will see a small park along side the river, people go fishing there, do exercise there or just sit there to see the Thanh Da half-island and the boat just flowing with containers on it ... thank you and enjoy Thao Dien ^^

Phú Mỹ Hưng district 7 is better for visit & enjoying. Clean, synchronization huge areas with alots of space, greens as well & NOT FLOOD IN BIG RAINNING. Alots of coffee, restaurants & stuffs as Thao Dien. Thảo Điền have more foreigners (as White, Spanish/Latinos & Western expat working & living) it’s the only difference if point out 2 place!! No doubt & no deny Thao Điền is rich neighborhood. Im talking about if just for visit & enjoying good coffee shop, good restaurants & clean district. PMH D.7 have it all just like Thảo Điển but in huge & synchronized

used to live in D7 PMH and moving to Thao Dien for years, to be honest Thao Dien is my type. Even though if it is deep under the heavy rain, it is a good experience for me =)) Maybe I am getting older. But yeah, PMH is a very nice area to enjoy :) @@HauTran-sunfromsouth

@@trinhviet5669 Vì sao vậy chị? E thắc mắc thôi. Q7 cũng có mọi mall, annam gourmet tới quán Chay Hum cũng có mặt ở q7, đường xá bên đó rộng rãi, thoáng mát, cũng có sông nước. Chạy vô q1 thì hơi xa chút Trường học qt cho các con cũng có Trừ dãy biệt thự ven sông cũ hoặc của đại gia, vì đam mê du thuyền Cano này nọ thì họ thik q2. Q7 cũng sông nước, mát mẻ. Nhiều ng cũng nói dù mưa lụt cũng thích, thật e k hiểu thích gì trong khi nơi khác cũng same same vậy. Nếu nói vì tình cảm do lớn tuổi, những khu vực q2 gần như bị giải toả, thay đổi hết rồi, có gì đâu mà hoài niệm. Có người e biết họ k rời q10, q3 dù ở nhà tập thể vì họ hoài niệm, sinh ra & lớn lên quanh khu đó từ nhỏ nên rất quyến luyến. Có đk mua cccc hay nhà phố cũng k thik chuyển đi. Còn q2 giờ là khu mới hoàn toàn, hoài niệm cái gì nhỉ?

I've been living in Thảo Điền for 30 years, and there is an interesting fact that you can find 2 different sides there: luxurious one and affordable one, which are divided by a short road. When you wanna experience rich life, choose Thảo Điền or Nguyễn Văn Hưởng street. Otherwise, choose Quốc Hương street where you can find a lot of food with reasonable prices and join local people's daily life.

For us the area was super interesting to explore since it was nothing like other parts of Saigon! It actually would be pretty nice to live in the more affordable area but have all the amenities and nice places around :)

Thao Dien is not considered as the richest neighborhoods in HCMC it's Phu My Hung. The wealth comes from not only the income and the net worth, it also comes from the life quality and its stability.

Phu My Hung is an area that feels like a new city in korea. Of course, it feels less developed than new cities in korea. There are many korean restaurants and massage shops there. And Here, some Korean men especially enjoy decadent massages.

I wouldn't live there. Don't get me wrong. 99% of what you said in the video is correct. It's a small European village with many pleasant places to eat and chill. Unfortunately, Thao Dien was Vietnam's first real estate development back in 1989 so it was done with many mistakes, the most obvious was the drainage system which cannot be corrected. I for one don't want to be anywhere near Thao Dien during the monsoon season as a 15-minute downpour would subject every pedestrian to knee-deep water levels.

District 1 was the French administrative area, district 3 was the French residential area and district 5 was the Chinese area with colonial shophouses with French facades ........Unfortunately all was lost, all you see now are fractions if not 20% of the French colonial architectures remaining. District 1 developed and changed since the French pulled out in the 50s...According to the Vietnamese newspaper district 3 lost 90% of its French villas since the 90s, with only over 1000 French villas remaining, 30yrs have passed I think that number should be 1/3 remaining, with people knocked down French villas to make way for modern tubehouse offices and hotels. District 5 was in the same fate. Countless colonial shophouses in Chinatown was destroyed during the war and after the country opened up in the 90s they tore down more and more colonial shophouses to make way for modern tube houses. Back in 2004 I still saw rows and rows of beautiful French facade shophouses with ornate molding decorations along the canal in district 5, reminiscent of Georgetown in Malaysia. Couple years later they destroyed everything , practically thousands of houses on the narrow colonial street to make way for the 10 lanes highway along the canal. Now no one knows anything about this because there;s no trace left except for the big highway.

I dunno man, after all the tasty foods you've been having you might need a session or two of Crossfit 🤣🤣 Looking at their website, that place in the video is owned by a Polish woman. I know exactly what you mean about the older guys wandering around on their own. Sadly, there are still a lot of older men that travel to countries like Vietnam in search of you-know-what, and it gives everyone else a bad reputation. I often feel embarrassed when I travel to the far east on my own and I have no doubt that locals look at me and assume I'm only there for one reason rather than actually wanting to travel and experience different cultures etc.

I definitely need to get more exercise in to be fair 😂 It's hard here because you can't do much outdoors so we need a gym but it was so much more convenient when we stayed at the 5 star hotel we have filmed 😂 Yeah it's unfortunate that it's like that and it also sucks that they stereotype you too but oh well as long as you know your own truth right!
