His name is Dave Grohl. He was the drummer for Nirvana. After Kurt died he wrote and recorded the first Foo Fighters album. On that album he played each instrument himself. Later he had to find a band to play with him.

Brei Betzold just adding - many of the song were at least partly written. Pat smear kept playing guitar. The summer and bass player were from sunny day real estate. Second album they changed drummers.

I believe he was already writing those early songs while he was in Nirvana. He never even tried to get them to record any of them because he didn't want to disturb what was working, and knew how bands fight over who's songs get on the album. When Kurt died he already had a lot of material. Just shows how smart he was. He was proud to be a part of Nirvana but wasn't just Nirvana ' s drummer. He definitely had something to say.

This is not by far their “biggest song” in fact it’s a more recent song kinda. They literally have 15+ “hits”. Big Me, Monkey Wrench, My Hero, Everlong, and on and on and on. They are kinda known for being the last remaining “true rock bands” of today. But my favorite song from them that I’d pay you to react to is “These Days”.. such deep and great lyrics, good video and such a dope song!

So not NIN's best song. People always react to it and say they'll never listen to another. "Something I can Never Have" or "Head Like a Hole" much better first listens.

Were you working at the Staple Center in 1995? Anway, lead singer and guitarist Dave Grohl formed the Foo Fighters shortly after the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died. Dave was the drummer of Nirvana. 'The Pretender' is probably their most well known hit. I think you should check out these three tracks. 'I'll Stick Around,' 'My Hero,' and 'Rope.'
