This is a very sweet song. No smut or innuendo, just saying how he has loved her, and she doesn't even know he exists. I had that same experience with one of the girls on my block. She was a couple of years older than I was. I finally got the nerve to say hello. Nothing romantic ever became of it, but she turned out to be a wonderful life long friend.

This song came out and instantly transported me back to the 60s, the 4th grade and the lovely Norma. She was the first girl I literally loved. We were really close and constantly teased by the other kids. We didn't care. Then...she moved away....broke my heart. Her last day and I was a total jerk. Wherever she is I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I never felt anything like that before.

I don't envy this generation's music at all, these songs had messages that usually hit the nail on the head of something you might have been going through or experienced that made you think of the special someone.
