I have also seen Queen w/Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert and they did It's Late in 2017. The best part was Brian May started the song on the far left of the stage - 15 - 20 feet away from me - I was in the 1st row on the side - not floor but actually stage high. THIS is one of my FAVORITE Queen songs. As a Drummer, you can just FEEL this song building to the final crescendo and climactic ending...just a beautifully dramatic song, and you can feel the emotion in Freddy's voice (like ALL Queen songs) building throughout the song. Took me a few times to learn the triplet ending note-for-note, but well worth the time spent !! Great great song !!

I'm a long time Queen fan (and long time Van Halen fan) and I didn't remember hearing this song before, but immediately could hear Brian May is using the pick hand tapping technique that Eddie Van Halen was famous for. So I looked it up and this song is from their album _News Of The World_ that came out a few months before Van Halen's first album in 1977. Brian saw a Texas guitarist named Rocky Athas using the technique at the Mother Blues club in Dallas some time before they recorded that album.

That is the problem with a big band such as Queen, is that people request the most popular songs that were hits and they have many causal fans that only know the biggest hits, Queen have loads of amazing underrated songs in their catalogue that were never hits or released as singles. It's Late is one of them, the also features the song also features the highest note on a Queen album in the studio. This song was overlooked by most. It wasn't one of their big hits. However, back in the day, we listened to entire albums at one time. We became familiar with ALL the songs that our favorite artists put out. Now music is more segmented. You choose a song to download rather than an entire album. The bigger hits are well known, but other songs don't get the same airplay on radio or online. I owned this album. I knew every song from beginning to end. Hearing this again was like listening to an old friend you haven't heard from in years.

I had this album as a teenager and I still have the cd lol. There are so many Queen songs that never get played on the radio anymore and it’s a damn shame

Been subscribed to you since you first started reacting to Queen, and this is definitely one of their "under the radar" songs yet it's still a favorite among many fans. I enjoyed your commentary on it, it's surprisingly emotionally deep!

When I was in radio, I played this one night and the phones LIT UP with listeners freaking out wanting to know what it was! Then again, I often got great responses whenever I deviated from the same old playlist. Thanks for reacting to this one!

Jamel nailed it, FLEW UNDER THE RADAR when Queen came out with this song. Much to long to play on radio spots, so never got wide exposure. I played this song so many times as i owned their 'News Of The World' albumn that had this song on it. So GLAD you reacted to this. ANother song that everyone forgot back then was Albert Hammond's - The Free Electric Band. {Suggest you react to this}.

When you say this song flew under the radar. I cannot believe this wasn't a huge hit. This tune is FIRE. This is pure blues.

Great song! If I heard it before I do not recall. My favorite Queen song is "Now I'm Here" and Def Leppard performed it very well with Brian May at the benefit concert after Freddy Mercury died.

One of my favorite tracks by Queen. It's in my top 5 favorites. I think it is a hidden gem. I don't know how it flew under the radar it's such an underrated awesome song.

This was the very first album I ever bought. It was 1978. This band changed my life at 9 years old.

For me "it's Late" is the most underrated Queen songs of all time and one of my favorites, I never got why this song wasn't more popular. I believe the reason that "It's Late" didn't get the airplay it deserved was because of executives were not happy with the length of this song?

Great song and great album. Saw this tour in 1977 at the Forum in LA 3 days before Christmas. Still one of the best shows I ever saw.
