Bobby Dodd stadium Atlanta, GA on the second night for me. The first night sold out immediately then they announced a surprise second performance for the next night. A classmate had just introduced me to Pink Floyd earlier that year and they have been my favorite band ever since. When the second night was announced she asked if I wanted to go with her and her friends to try to get tickets. I found myself sitting at what would have been front row seats at the 50 yard line had it been a football game watching the performance of a lifetime. It was an experience I will never forget.

I'm 66 years old, and to this day, I still enjoy the music of Pink Floyd. I remember hearing Pink Floyd for the first time in 1970. I fell in love with their music. Their concerts are epic. Their albums are epic. The younger generation today, they don't know what good music is. Back in the '70s and '80s you got your money's worth when you went to a concert. I was born and raised in Fort Apache, The South Bronx. My mother was a bartender. When the man came around to change the records on the jukebox, he would put the old ones in a box, and hand them to my mother, they were considered disposable. I had every kind of music imaginable on 45s. This allowed me to hear and appreciate every kind of music that was being produced at the time(late 50s-early 60s). Everything from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley , to Motown and the Chipmunks. It's so important to listen to different kinds of music! I so enjoy seeing you react to all the various Great Music available. Everything is on the Internet, now. Keep up the good work. Show the young Brothers and Sisters that music is not limited by race, age, or situation. You are doing a great public good! KEEP IT ALIVE!!!

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.

My guitar teacher told me, as we studied David Gilmour, that this guy is not playing guitar, he is telling a story on his strings, that what makes him so different from the others, the scales and everything is based on a "easy fundament" but he tells the right story with this very simple and genius stuff in a way no one else can! Give David a Instrument with only a pentatonic and he can make a 20 min Solo on it that is full of the lyric like a good short story that keeps you reading till the last word.

If not completely emotionally wrecked with tears running down your face while and after listening to that, then you simply were not listening, and or have no soul. It is SORROW all right, the darkest of dark despair in musical and lyrical form. No one more than slightly nods their heads while in a British audience, one could believe that every one of them has been somehow hypnotized by the entire spectacle, and as if they are witnessing something that they dare not miss a microsecond of. I can't speak for others, however, when I have been at a Floyd concert, which is on at least 6 occasions, I feel as though I am witnessing the power of profound EVIL. Something so dark that finally getting outside into the street is like a warm release into the light of sanity. To see the light one must know the dark, for you can't truly know one without the other.

First time I heard this song, the intro, I thought Dave was revving up a chainsaw - in the most melodious way! No, it was just him revving up his guitar...par for the course! The sound quality on the entire PULSE concert set the bar for audio recordings! Everything was captured brilliantly. Not a bad song on that entire setlist! It just dawned on me why people don't put Pink Floyd in their "Top" list. Pink Floyd is beyond that, some other world, and "One of my Favorite bands" just doesn't express. I agree with you though. I have two lists: My Playlist and My Top List. Sometimes that Top List doesn't fit the mood or vibe. You can't live on just Floyd alone because you deny yourself the experience of different voices. Hearing this live in concert is a profound experience, I can't tell you how much the bass hits your chest from a colossal wall of speakers!. It's without doubt the greatest show I've ever been to and I've been to a lotl!. One of These Days is no slouch either!. Rotterdam, Holland Sept.'94 Thank you Pink Floyd!.

I was so lucky to see pulse concert 3 times. I went to so many concerts but I never saw something like that. Pulse concert was the best life experience I had. Watching or listening to the video is amazing but being their was something I cannot describe. We were surrounded by music coming from every where, vibrating inside us with every note, drowning into lights and lasers like a sea covering the whole stadium. We were not watching a concert, we were inside some unique experience.

I was fortunate enough to have been at the Pink Floyd Pulse concert in May 1994 which was their last tour as that group. That was the most ethereal concert I have ever attended. I am a professional musician but I must say, this concert was the best I ever seen or attended....bar none! All of the 70k attendees including me were totally mesmerized through the whole show. Cheers from Connecticut, Dave.

Try the "Endless River" album. A lot of pieces in that sound like they should be in an epic movie.

I don't get the "hate" that the Endless River gets. I completely understand that it's not anyone's favorite, or it isn't as conventional as other albums. But bring up the Endless River and it brings up full blown haters. It's such a beautiful record, with amazing textures, feelings, and styles. Great album to put on and sit back, relax, chill, and enjoy the ride.

@@jamesbetts3468 I love 'Island', and 'Rattle' is great too. Endless River is just really nice when I want mood music of a floydish flavor. The last song "Louder than Words" is good, but they put a xylophone in there, and I rarely think that fits in any rock or blues music. I sometimes wince when I here the xylophone thinking "WHY?"

12:36 - 12:41 My god the power and presence of this note… awesome. Gilmour can get so much out of a single note. He will admit that he’s not lightning quick, but his bending of notes, and the emotion it adds is deeper then some speed metal or tapping like crazy.
