I read in the liner notes of Seger's greatest hits CD that there are actually 2 separate drummers playing on this song. Once you know that, if you listen closely, you can hear them. You aren't old enough to remember Cheryl Tiegs. She was one of the first super models to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue way back in the early seventies. (You need to see the picture of her in a mesh net one piece. That picture almost turned me into a man years before I was ready. Anyway.....) Bob saw that picture (It was a Time Magazine cover and NOT a Sports Illustrated cover that Bob saw to inspire this song. I kind of knew that but the thought of Cheryl Tiegs must have scrambled my brains for a bit. Thanks to Will Dwyer for slapping some sense into my addled brain.) of Ms. Tiegs and thought to himself, "What if a young boy from the midwest went to California and met this girl?" And thus was born another Seger classic. I can never tire of Bob. Timeless and joyous music. You need to meet up with SoulTrainBro. Then we could have a dual reaction of two of the coolest dudes on the internet! Keep On Truckin' Peace

My all-time favorite from Seger, Love the jam on this one. Just don't drive while it's playing....Foot goes immediately to the floor....lol

I don't what is about Bob Seger, When You're actually listening to His Music He'll Be my Favorite Singer Songwriter of All Time and that Particular Song will be the greatest song Ever Written.. And yet Anytime someone asks me who's your Favorites.. It's always the Doors , Led Zepplin... Bob Seger's name never hits that list.. But when You're listening in that Moment His Words, His Music Grabs your brain your soul, Your Memories, He is everyman living everyone's life at the same time and Belting it out loud and Proud. He is the Soundtrack of Life incarnate. Thanks Bob!!!

Got to see him in 1980 in Miami at Miami Baseball stadium. He gave it his all and then some. Talked a lot to all us kids about life between songs. Inspirational, beautiful man. One of the best performances I’ve ever seen, if not the best.
