Two interesting things about this song... 1. The lyrics are actually "No, I don't want to fall in love with you". I found this out after learned how to play it for a girlfriend in college (I removed the "don't" when I sang it to her). 2. James Hetfield from Metallica actually used this song as inspiration to take vocal lessons to get more soul in his singing before The Black Album. This can be observed in the song "The Unforgiven".

It's cute that you've never heard of him or this song. One of my all-time favorites. Saw him live in the 90's. He puts on a great show!

Glad you finally got around to this one, I guess this is pretty much what they call live studio grade, quality!

I love this so much. This live version is so damned good and shows perfectly what great musicians all these guys are. As for Chris, well he's just amazing in this. Solid Gold.

I was blessed to see that band live and it was an experience. He is the originator of this song, Jamel. Seeing him live is amazing... he played and when the concert was supposed to be over... that band just kept on jamming for us... all kinds of songs they just pulled out of their hats. And we stayed... we were glued to that band like flies on fly paper and it was outdoors... summertimes... and the happy hangover lasted for days.

I’m a 42 year old man. Also a seasoned musician. Music has always been emotional for me. Pumps me up, brings me peace and joy. Also brings tears to my eyes at times. This is one of those moments. The music is super tight, the song is haunting in a good way anyways. Then add his vocals with those great harmonies…..To top it off, the lyrics are top notch

I’ve seen Chris Isaak about 7 times with my wife( yes the ladies love him) and he and his band are some of the best musicians I’ve see live ever. Obviously Chris has an incredible voice. He also has great, funny interactions with his audience. He and the band are the real deal.

Check out his singing “Somebody’s Crying” and “Baby did a bad bad thing”.

Thank you for that reaction! Chris Isaak is fantastic! Lots of Country-flavored, retro-roots Rock a’Billy, with some Surf-Rock vibes thrown in! He does a lot of Blue-eye’d Soul and Lonesome Cowboy type songs, like Ricky Nelson and early Elvis. Excellent!

Jamel if you ever get the chance to see him live do it. His shows are always good, band is always very tight. He is a gifted artist. Heart Shaped wheel is an album worth buying, IMHO.

Chris Isaak should be one of the biggest names in music, and it's a crime that he isn't. He's the total package. Talented, charismatic, charming. Pure talent, that guy.

Who remembers "The Chris Isaak Show", a comedy/drama TV show that starred him and his band that eventually ended up with his band playing songs in each episode. Same idea as "The Monkees", but with a plot and missing the silly slapstick. Chris's show was actually pretty good, and of course had really good music.

Finally. It's probably the best recording of his song.

I remember Chris Issac and this song, I saw it on MTV during the eightyies or early nineties, I think it was thought of as a country song, and country music thought it was a rock and roll song, it never got it's fair share of being played, it just was forgotten and went by the wayside. I always thought it was a dreamy, haunting song, I loved it.thanx for playing it.

From these same live sessions, Chris Isaak also performed a song called "Dancin'". Definitely deserves a reaction video!
