Saw him 35 years ago, in Bordeaux, France, one or two years after Blue Hotel album. The concert at "Le Grand Parc" the planned concert hall, was cancelled at the last moment, coz not enough audience or whatever... So he decided to play in a club (Le Chat Bleu, kind of Bordeaux' Marquee Club)... Chris and his band just for us, 2 hundred fans... and free beer. Great memory.

Great reaction! This came out in '89 believe it or not, but it didn't really hit until a year or two later when David Lynch featured it in his film 'Wild at Heart," and then it soared to # 6 on the Billboard charts. Roy Orbison meets Elvis. And his own twist of course. A sad song about a woman you love that doesn’t love you back, and its almost wicked that he should feel like this and can do nothing. A feel of longing and dare I say, despair. An amazing song.

Actually, according to the commentary on his greatest hits DVD, the video was shot on a lava flow in Hawaii. It was spectacular with all the steam in the background. They went back the next day to re-shoot something, and the whole thing was gone. Chris has a wicked sense of humor, and he's a prankster. At least one popular late night comedy talk show host described him as "trouble". He tells great stories during his concerts, and elsewhere.

This track was covered in a very different style a few years ago by a now-20- year-old Russian named Diana Ankudinova. It's unlikely you've ever heard a voice quite like hers. @@MaddyReactions @brittreacts Let me suggest another video you should react to. The Eagles with their song "Lying Eyes." Written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, sung by Glenn Frey. I know you've heard of "Hotel California", with Don Henley singing which is arguably their most famous song. However, this song "Lying Eyes" is more country rock and tells a very compelling story. The Eagles are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a good reason, and Glenn Frey is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame for good reason. He co-founded The Eagles with Don Henley. Had a solo career of his own, and also dabbled in acting like "Miami Vice" and the movie "Jerry Maguire" (with Tom Cruise). The director of Jerry Maguire wanted someone who could act opposite Tom Cruise and not being intimidated. You know like a rock and roll star who co-founded a band that sells out stadiums. The song also features tight harmonies and excellent guitar skills. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHy8gnWcr8-eg7ssi=FVkNzIdMYdtMg_r5

Chris is an amazing singer and his band is one of the best. They're top notch musicians and have played together for decades. To see them in concert, they're also fun and very entertaining. I've had the joy of catching them several times and every time, they all make an effort to acknowledge the audience as the reason they're there in the first place. No autotune, no faking it in any way. The guitar sound has a heavy 60s Surf influence - i.e. a magical blend of Spanish and Middle Eastern sounds mixed with electric guitar and heavy reverb. Done slowly like this, it adds an almost eerie vibe that is hypnotic. Just close your eyes and feel it.

Bought my first Chris Isaak cd in 1989 and saw him a few weeks ago for the first time live in Lisbon, Portugal. It was awesome and I'll gladly admit to tearing up when they played Blue Spanish Sky. You can see a killer version of that song too on KZbin from the same session. It also brings back memories of the early 90s when a friend of mine and I tried to convert each other to our own musical preferences. He was totally into house music and I was more on the "real music" spectrum. I dropped Wicked Game on him, as well as Elvis Costello's I Want You. Suffice it to say we managed to convert each other somewhat. Keep an open mind to different types of music and you might discover some good stuff.

First time viewer of your channel. I love this song. Funny thing is that just yesterday I watched a video on how much pitch correction has been done to his voice in this performance. The Wings of Pegasus channel sorts out who does and does not modify their voices.

Chris is such a great down to earth musician, hence why he is so loved in Australia.

Great reaction Maddy! I was lucky enough to see the band in ‘95 at the HOB on Sunset. We were a few feet from the stage, but Madonna was in the balcony. Forever Blue is one of the best albums ever. Please also react to the official music video. ✌️❤️🔥

Oh dear Maddy what have you done 😂. Wicked game is one of my favourite songs, I’ve actually played an instrumental version of it myself! Chris’s transitions between chest voice and falsetto in a yodel are legendary; you don’t often hear that done. There are lots of his songs that I’m sure you will enjoy, go find them! 🌹

I drive for Uber and Chris Isaak's greatest hits is one of my 'go to' albums that I play for background music. Got pretty good tip from one pax for my musical taste.

Difficult to describe song. This was his big hit. The original video was a bit scandalous. A really pleading song. Great post.

So, it's a beautiful song that you probably want to hear more often....but it doesn't get a ton of airplay anymore, and you forget it, until a reactor uncovers it again and you ask why I haven't listened to it in so long. It's THAT song.
