Tatiana shmaylyuk is the QUEEN of metal hands down. She has stated in a interview she does no vocal warm ups drinks and smokes then laughed and said "maybe I should start taking care of it better " lol You would be surprised on how many black people listen to jinjer and metal over all. Even if it’s not the genre of music a person prefers we have to admit this band is talented and entertaining. They prove they can play multiple styles and they’ve improved so much over the years. I really like the reggae elements they have in a few songs. Tatiana can sing pretty much anything and she’s a huge reggae fan. Bob Marley is one of her favorites actually. You implied that you’ve read the lyrics. I’m curious on what your thoughts are on the lyrics of the songs you’ve heard? There are a lot of real world experiences in the lyrics. Which I know you’ve learned from many of the metal songs you’ve checked out. Thanks for the 3 videos. Hope you check out some more from Jinjer.

A good number of black people listen to metal. I know at least 6 or 7 black friends of mine who listen to metal, and I'm also black, but not American. All these friends are in Tanzania (East Africa) where I grew up, and that's where I started listening to metal years ago. It's freakin everywhere man. Maybe fewer black Americans listen to metal cause hip-hop is part of the culture in a way.

Awesome reaction! Music has changed SO much from what it used to be. Genres are NO longer defined by nationality. Which is the way it SHOULD be because music itself doesn't recognize color. But the first time I watched one of their videos, it was a shock when such a heavy voice came from such a beautiful young lady! Love em! Holy $h!t Jinjer deep dive - I see the other videos on the side bar! \m/ For a metal band Jinjer has a fairly diverse audience. There are a few black KZbinrs' who have talked about seeing them live, and when I saw them a lot of the audience wasn't just white dudes. They also have a lot of very passionate fans in Latin America if the bootlegs of their tour there last year are any indication - a lot of the time you can barely hear Tati over the crowd singing along and screaming.

Oldschool hip-hop and metal have always been a kindred tbh. And yeah, I'm in the same boat as you man, I grew up in the 80's and 90's and I loved metal and hip-hop, but I can't be arsed with modern day hip-hop at all anymore. I really like this track the way they overlayed her growls with her cleans in parts. You should react to her early stuff like Waltz.

haha yeah, that's an awesome song - first off their new album with some very substantial reggae influences. My neck was so sore after the weekend it came out.
