The producer/sound mixer of the album cocked it up bad and all but drowned it out so very few people even realize how dynamic it is. Very glad you picked up on it Jamel. McDonald wanted to this new artist Christopher Cross, so he popped into the studio where he was recording. The rest is history. In addition to "Ride alike the Wind", McDonald also sings background vocals on "I Really Don't Know Anymore" from the Cross debut album. Don Henley also sang backup on one song, as well as Nicolette Larson on "Say You'll Be Mine". And, Toto was the band on the "Ride Like The Wind"...pretty amazing stuff. Cross talked about his battle with COVID and complications, but he played for a solid 1 and 1/2 hours with no breaks, dedicating this tour to healthcare workers who saved his life as well as countless others. Great show, great artist, and a great human being.

I was waiting for THAT reaction on your face when you realised 'brother' Michael McDonald was on that song. You got me doing a thumbs up to the TV screen when you were asking the question.... Christopher's other real big song is "Sailing" which is really mellow.

It's a close call between "Sailing" and this as my favorite Christopher Cross song. Today it's this one. Do "Sailing" tomorrow and that will be my favorite...and that is Michael McDonald doing background vocals on this one.

This song reminds of when my friend and I were kids and we zip tied our handheld portable radios to our 10 speeds and went "ridin' like the wind" to this song.

Boy oh boy...let me tell you how I found you sight. I had this song in my head for everyday for like 3 weeks STRAIGHT!!! I believe we all experience a song being stuck in our heads that we do our best to get out. This is frustrating and can take some mental fortitude to get that song out of our heads. However, this song stuck in my head and this time the only frustration was not knowing all the words, so I went on KZbin and this popped up. I was so excited to see someone do a review on it. At the beginning you gave me the impression that you were going to listen to this song all the way thru first and then discuss it. Yet when your eyes lit up and you moved your head closing to the music, I knew you didnt expect to hear his voice, Michael's. That had me CRACK....EN...UP!!! I didnt think you could pass up stopping the music to let us know you knew Michaels voice as a back up. I really enjoyed experiencing that with you, be it 2 yrs later. So my goal is to sing this at Karego(sic) so Im practicing the lyrics and next will be dance movs. I will share the recording of it with you if you like. Anyways I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing all your reviews, past, present, and future.

I've watched your channel for a while now as well as Rick Beato and I like how you both pick out certain nuances in songs. I saw a phenomenal musician from the 70's and think you'll like him too. Oscar Peterson Live at Ronnie Scotts in 74. The whole group is great. He will leave you in awe! P.S. start at 19:00 minutes.

Think of Laura, Arthur's Theme, and Sailing are my three Favorite Christopher Cross Songs. Yes, Michael McDonald is on this song too. Yes, Christopher Cross is playing the guitar solo. And if you could do a reaction to Pink Floyd's "Run Like Hell," that would be amazing. That is all.
