CP 8856 at Craighurst (12JUN2014)

Canadian Pacific 8856, CP 5750 northbound (4,400 feet - 284 axles). CP 8856 took the hole and cleared so CP 9363 could pass at speed. As CP 8856 pulled up to the crossing a car skids to a stop and then reverses to avoid the arm dropping on their hood. Lol

Man, that siding is in sad shape. Hope it's since been fixed.

Are the crossing signals controlled remotely? Just wondering why the gates went up despite the train approaching/stopping.

If they stop before the bond the crossing lights time out eventually and the gates open. As soon as they cross the bond, they go again.
