I repaired the fuel pump head on this actual vehicle for john, propbably 5yrs ago . it was the leather "O" ring seal , so had to use a neoprene based o ring ! The shaft of pump would walk out fully deployed ,bleeding the pressure of fuel tank . The old girl cleaned up well , wondering if you re-wrapped exhaust down pipe or had replaced it ? Got to drive it ....2miles but john was with me and that was enough ,i was very happy !!

What an incredible piece of rolling automotive history... Just like it was over 100 years ago and still running fine and dandy. That V8 started right up and sounded sweet... You could just see the smile on Jay's face as he tooled around, shifting the gears and enjoying that beautiful piece of true American 'iron'... The horn just kills me every time... What a total time machine and the fact that you can still drive it in today's traffic is a TRUE testament to Mr. Leyland and his team....

The original owner before Jay, was John woodward(my customer)I had the chance to keep it service and Jay had said don't sell it until 3yrs more then I'll give you more $$$ when it reaches 100yrs old.... and he sold it to Jay.

I will say that Jay Leno is probably one of the most knowledgeable men on the planet on various cars, mechanical knowledge of all the different early 1900's makes, models, differences, etc. He has an amazing memory and intensely studies various car makes in his spare time as a hobby. He is almost like a curator of a museum when it comes to cars, motorcycles, trucks, you name it. If it deals with precision machinery, Jay Leno has amazing knowledge of it. Pretty amazing stuff....

What a car! Yes, this is the car that really made Cadillac as a luxury, rather than upper medium priced, automobile. And I agree with that owner's manual - most problems on an American-made car really are the owner's fault. They refuse to change the oil and filter, they refuse to lube the chassis, they never check the oil in the differential and the manual transmission, they refuse to check the fluid in an automatic transmission, they refuse to tighten a loose fan belt, etc., then they blame the car when something finally fails.

Cadillac was called "The Standard of the World" in the day because of the Dewer Award. Also I believe Cadillac was the first car to introduce the electric starter in about 1908.

I love Jay Leno’s garage all the thing he does, I watch on KZbin all the time , and you know what he does thing like even the big guys like Motor Trend won’t do, nobody is doing what he does, reporting test driving all this old cars, odd cars rare cars. I love what Rod kill /Motor Trend does but they do different thing, Jay does completely different things, different cars. In one word he surpassed Motor Trend taking into a consideration that he is a one individual vs. them a huge corporation with a lot of employees.

Did You know that Henry Ford visited the Waltham watch factory to see the production line . It was a inspiration to make a assembly line to produce cars faster. The watches had interchangeable parts way back in the 1880`s . I know this because I collect Waltham watches for a hobby and restore them. What is real interesting that Cadillac was formed for Ford. I was a Cadillac mechanic and did not know that.

+Justin Bechtel Get a new Lexus LS. The steering wheel AND the driver's seat retract, and then move toward each other, when you start the car. Quite obnoxious, actually. And for those of us who turn our cars off at bank ATMs, the retracting seat makes it a logistical challenge to stop the car at the right spot in relation to the ATM buttons. My assumption is that this feature is meant to accommodate portly drivers.

I've been binge watching your show, Pandemic Edition, as were back on quarantine over here Jay. Although I haven't seen every episode, so far, this is my favorite one, that is after the Duesenberg. The Victoria is just in outstanding condition !! And my mind boggles at the thought that it cost $4,000 in 1918 !! June 14th, 1918 my Grandfather, William Adrain Van Lieshout was awarded the first Ford Dealership in the state of Wisconsin, by Henry Ford and associates. The city was Kaukauna, WI. It was called the William Van Lieshout Ford Motor Company.

Can't believe how quiet this one is. These very early cars are fascinating. They didn't have "standards" yet. One this car the window channels fols down. The lights have a mechanical dimmer. The engine temp guage is on the hood. All these quirky- to us- ways of doing things. It gave each car maker a distinct identity, not to be confused with another. There just were no hard and fast rules then.

Ok, the coolest thing on the car, was those windows, the way they open up, I loved that. And the fact that the interior felt like you were inside someone's living room of the period, fun video and car.
