Thank you, Jay, for a video of a bike that a lot of people could afford. When I was 22, I had a 1981 Kawasaki 1100 GPZ. I lived in the mountains and I remember the thrill of taking 10 mph curves at 70. I'd been riding since age 10, but, of course, I still did a lot of really stupid things on motorcycles in those days and somehow never got a scratch. When I was 39 years old, I was putting along on a Sportster at about 45 mph, hit a raccoon while going around a curve. That was in 1998 and I've since been an incomplete quad. People think I'm crazy, (they could be right), but if I could, I would still be riding. That feeling of freedom just can't be beat. Ride as much as you can for as long as you can, Jay, and please keep showing motorcycle videos.

Few will ever be able to own a Ferrari, but if you want to know what it feels like to own and drive one you can. Any late model 600-1300 cc bike can provide every bit of exhilaration of driving a Ferrari, at a price that any working reasonably competent person can afford if they choose to. This is why I love riding and the motorcycle industry as a whole. I am not suggesting a new rider should go buy a big bike and drive it like an idiot. Unless you hate your life and want to be crippled or die. I am saying with experience and time you will be able to ride your bike and feel more alive than most Ferrari owners ever do...
@Mike-dy8sj9 жыл бұрын
Comparing any vehicles solely on there performance specs doesn't really work. There are many vehicles that are not Italian exotics that are just as fast, or faster. How many smiles per gallon a true enthusiast gets comes from passion and the soul of a vehicle. It's like they have there own emotions. Being hunched over on top of a engine with a two wheels is not going to emulate the experience of owning a Ferrari. Since actually driving either one on a public road. 99.9 percent of the time you will not be driving to maximize and live up to all the performance figures.

I must admit that a little over a year ago i needed a road bike to ride while restoring my 1976 Moto Guzzi 1000. I ended up offering the seller not much more than half of what he wanted by email. Imagine my shock when he accepted my offer. I was one happy rider on the way home! It's a 1980 Yamaha XS1100 and i stole that bike for $480 because of the fact that the bike was Yamaha's first 4 stroke inline and has 95+ hp. It may be old but at 50,000+ miles on it now it doesn't feel tired to me. Nor does it pop out of second gear like many of them do as they age. I must admit that to this day i am so glad i scored such a powerful bike for what i spent to get it. Www was q the muscle cars of my youth i can sure see why it's a lot of fun having the abundance of power and i'm still, to this day thankful for that.

Well Jay, Suzuki models last 2 years, so K7 and K8 is identical engines, but different look because they need to sell more parts, later. Its amazing how identical the power is on the new L1 185 BHP and i think 112.5 Nm, but chassis is way different to improve performance on the track, shorter engineblock to have longer swingarm for better performance in corners. Its amazing how much they could improve on an already perfect bike. They say on the K8/9 a very good tuner could maybe get 5-8 HP more for 10-15.000$. The 750 is also very competitive with around 150BHP.
