Max not too bad considering that the rs is reselling for $10mil+
@IanSmithKSP5 жыл бұрын
I imagine that the tooling required to make a tire of this caliber is well into a million dollars. For a big company to dedicate their equipment and talent into it, it’s well worth that price. When they expect to only produce a couple hundred sets, then it gets very very expensive. Koenigsegg can afford it. However when you’re only selling 80 two million dollar cars, 1 million dollars for tires is far too much to justify. Their approach as a partnership rather than an exclusive product makes a lot more sense. Whether I have my numbers right or not is up to us to guess, but I think my hunch is in the right proportions. Tires making up 1% or more of the production cost wouldn’t work for a small company.

@Murada 1. This isn't a track car. It's a luxury hybrid. 2. I wasn't criticizing Chevrolet. Designing an inhouse DCT and making it affordable is admirable. 3. If Koenigsegg really wanted to smoke a Corvette around a track, it would use an Agera or Jesko. 4. Koenigsegg only produce supercars, the reason they're so expensive is because they need to be to keep the company afloat. Unlike General Motors. 5. And at least Koenigsegg's interiors aren't made out of cheap plastic, and will last a hell of a lot longer.

stryker2828 - Pagani is more a kit car. AMG engine. Only real design contribution is the aesthetics. Koenigsegg on the other hand is more revolutionary and original -- and therefore much much better. Perhaps the comparison of Swedish/German (Germanic) and Japanese/Korean (Asian) brands versus French/Italian (Latin) brands illustrates the different motivations: substance versus style. Amongst French/Italian makers the only exception is the legendary Citroen DS (French) which is still the most revolutionary car ever made.

RASM_ Bugatti focuses on luxury while still having the performance, The Bugatti Chiron ride quality has been compared to that of Rolls Royce while in the most comfortable setting and also being able to feel every crack in the road while in its track mode, The Regera is a very nice car don't get me wrong but when it comes to luxury, comfort, and reliability so far the Chiron is miles ahead of the Regera, it's like comparing the luxuries of a Ford platinum Expedition to a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
