I agree but cars today are all about performance and a manual R8 V10 plus wouldnt be in the same level of a huracan with launch control and super fast shifting manufacturers are not going to lose performance because some people want manual cars and either way not to many people are gonna buy a manual supercar and its moving with the times its a new era and a new age semit auto with the double clutch does it way faster than anyone else and its better for the engine and it saves more fuel

One of my favorite cars out there. When I first saw photos of this new model, I was happy that the slide blade was split - it was one thing that annoyed me on the old one. Also, with the face-lift and other exterior changes to the air vents etc front and rear, it looks more handsome. Of course, I'd take any R8 if I could. Always exciting to see one on the road. That color is something else!

I have always loved this car...My buddies and I were in Silverton Co., summer of 06 or 07, driving down the road and parked at a small store, Circle K type store, there was a model in a white body suite and a Silver car with no badging. We pulled over out of curiosity and the car was full of computers, wires etc and engineers all around. Turned out to be an original A8 doing altitude testing and taking video with the lovely lady. The Audi guys were super cool and happy to talk about the car..

Yeah, I test drove both the v8 and 2014 Super 6. Actually, I really loved them both! Totally different beasts. But the v8 rumble won me over. I do like some features of the newer model more though. Like the wheels.

I'm an Audi technician and I can't wait to PDI this car! Pre-Delivery Inspection. we need to put 10 miles on the car for each PDI ;) I used to be an Acura Technician and the NSX was amazing. the S7 and S4 are fun too!

I think it's the best looking exotic on the road today. It's certainly the best looking of all the R8's. I don't like awd, but one drive in this nearly converted me. It feels rwd, even in launch mode. The performance is breathtaking. The interior is very comfortable as well.

Love how Jay drives at the Audi rep with the manual's qualities. I think, though, that brands keep misinterpreting why the markets are choosing PDK/DCTs. It's most likely because it's just easier to daily, easier to drive at the limit, easier overall in almost any area. I hope the next advance of tech, in terms of whether or not to add turbos, is to stick with natural aspiration, and add plug-in tech to factor in "MPGe" numbers.

as an Audi fan and owner I love Audi episodes. Jay please make an episode with a classic Audi. There are plenty of Mercedes and Bmws on the channel but not as many Audis. I know a guy with one if not the best Quattros in the world outhere. He would easily win many concourses. And has a great story

I think it sounds fine, and pre-driving one I can only say from jays normal, commentary to this one, its checked all the boxes, and in doing so has become kind of numb. take the new 510/idx: he said its was fanstastic and its not even drivable car. in the video jays smiles and talks...hes excited. I think he is impressed with how audi have solved the problems but somehow only comes away with n/a engines and does not specifically mention the one his in. jay does not care about disengaged cylinders by the look on his face. ADD: I feel like, its two guys: one just got married and the other one is being nice and saying halfheartedly she's pretty and how great she is.

+Freimopp777 R8 is all they have but it still cant out perform an M5. Im talking about a 2000-2003 style M5 not all this turbo bs that Audi is known for. BMW yes has twin turbo but back in 2000 the M5 was naturally aspirated and will still take the R8. Remember the M5 is 4 door sedan an R8 is mostly carbon fiber. But will still lose against the M5

Sss All R8 are nautural aspiriated. I dont know where you get the numbers but the E39 M5 you mentioned is significantly slower. In every year the M5 got more performance, so how should this work when already the newest M5 cant keep up? And yes the R8 with 420hp V8 engine was a little disappointment in performance, it was not the fastest but against E39 M5 it is still enough to win . The R8 with the V10 are much better.
