Did 128,000 miles in mine without a single breakdown. Thrashed it every inch of the way too. 308 QV's are the most reliable mid-engined Italian sports car made in my opinion. Got 2 other friends with 100k + miles 308's too, one is a 78 carb car, again both cars are trouble free. The ones that sit around in garages are the ones with problems. 308's were meant to be used and driven hard, the harder the better. Cheaper parts than most modern everyday cars, easy on fuel and cheap to insure as a classic. I also did 112,000 miles totally trouble free in a 550 Maranello, again rev limited it virtually every time I drove it. Another well built car.

These videos are just so awesome. I just watched the 35l Pantera just like I had when I was a kid. Now this ,84 308 . I had a yellow one back in the late 80,s. Jay is right about 100,000 being just a shitload of miles for a Ferrari. After 15,000 you have to have them completely rebuilt with new timing components or run the chance of them blowing up going down the road. I had that done twice before I sold it and got the Red 88 Testerosa. Man I loved that car for sure. Even thou I'm 6.3 and size 15 shoe. Wich is just hard as Hell not to hit all three pedals at once. Now I drive a Ford F150. Oh well. Still have the memories. My old back can't handle them sport cars any more. I do like the Imperial convertible that Jay has.

I drove my first Ferrari thanks to my late neighbor who offered me the keys to his 288 Ferrari GTO as a birthday offering for the a day. I was in awe of the car from the day I saw it as a competitor to the venerable Porsche 959. It was an absolute blast driving it through the beautiful Maryland country roads - and yes, you had better be pointing the wheels forward when you engage the turbos at full throttle!. An unforgettable experience. The same was true for the experience behind the wheel of his beautiful, albeit more docile BB512 (my all time favorite). A stunningly beautiful car that drove like a thoroughbred 12 cylinder Ferrari. I would have bought that car and kept it forever had it not been for a lack of liquidity and marital commitment. (-:

Watching two middle aged men trying to lower themselves into the car was the best bit for me.

I'm taller than both of these guys, and I'm trying to imagine how I would drive one of these.

This isn't my favorite episode, but it is way up there in the top 10 or so. The conversation was excellent and the information too.

I just read an article about this guy getting arrested, so I had to watch this old video with Leno. He seems to be a lousy liar to me. When he said 308s had different horsepower depending on what guy put them together at the factory, I immediately thought he was full of crap. He said other things that reeked of BS too. Leno looks skeptical with his arms folded and his questioning attitude. I know it’s easy to say now, given that he’s been arrested, but I wouldn’t have let him near any of my cars after watching this video. Even Leno knows that some of the things he said were not true. I’m surprised that he was so successful for so many years. A lot of people are kicking themselves for getting conned by this guy, now that the truth is out.

Love Jay's old guy driving style exiting the garage, shuffling the wheel with his head tilted back and mouth open

2 Million Subs When your channel reached a million subs you said that if we liked the burnout video you posted then - then we we love what you do when you reach two million subs. Hope to see that before you reach three million..

Nothing beats two car guys talking about cars. You can see the appreciation.

This is IT! Jay. Thank you! To witness a true to life pioneer of one of the finest definitive hallmarks in luxury sports automobiles, walk us through a journey through test and time. Attest to the glory and triumph by which few venture into let alone entertain. Truly a milestone. As always excellent content.

This is the most beautiful car ever to me. Not the best, not by far. I would not want to own it ever, but I cannot stop looking at a Ferrari 308.

Always wanted Magnums 308 GTS so this is wonderful. Back in the 90s I looked into these and found them for about $35k. Wanted one so bad.

i always thought Ferrari 308's had to be red or yellow but after looking at this white one...pretty sweet.

"It's a good-looking car." To me... that's just such an understatement. It's a jaw-dropping design.
