S-blast has two modes. Long range when you standing and close when you are in the air. Painbrush is just long range brush. And the most important info for Jay: in order to fistbump your teammate you both need to get 3 golden medals each (and also stand next to each other)

Fistbump has 3 aspects. First, both players have 3 gold medals. Second, they are next to each other (this is rng based as it is decided at the beginning). Third, the fistbump will NOT happen unless certain victory pose requirements are met - for example, the final pose of 'No Chill' which is quite high up, would struggle to fistbump a player using the 'Lowdown' emote

Jay for the s-blast, if you jump then the weapon will be short ranged. If you're on the ground, the weapon will be long ranged. The Beeping while you're jumping is what the s-blast does while switching from long range to short range

Hey Jay, apparently there is some kind of complex criteria for fist bumps to happen. The Splat Channel has a good video on it. Apparently, 2 people have to have 3 gold medals AND compatible emotes… for some reason

I’m pretty sure that fistbumps only happen after two consecutive victories with a teammate so if you have someone you’re playing with, after the 1st win, assuming that you’re next to each other you fist bump.
