9:36 In defense of post-movie Spongebob: I understand that a lot of people feel more nostalgia for the older Spongebob, but I watched Spongebob up until 2014 when I was in middle school. I would watch whatever Spongebob was on and would laugh at it. Even as an adult, there are some moments from post-movie Spongebob that I remember/quote. Admittedly, I think of older Spongebob moments more, but it's not like post-movie Spongebob is completely unmemorable. I still have Patrick's song from Sing a Song of Patrick memorized from singing it so much as a kid. ("Twinkle twinkle Patrick Star. I made myself a sandwich. My mommy named it Fred. It tastes like beans and bacon and smells like it's been dead. Writing stuff is hard so I use a pointy pencil. Pointy pointy pointy, pointy pointy point. Pee-yew, what's that horrible smell? (Drum solo!) I have a head. It ends in a point. Pointy pointy pointy, pointy pointy point. This song is over except for this part: you win this round, broccoli!") There is a noticeable change between seasons 1 and 3 and seasons 4 onwards, and that's because Stephen Hillenburg left the show after the movie, leaving Paul Tibbitt to take over as showrunner. The distinction I've heard is that Stephen Hillenburg's Spongebob had plots that were more grounded in reality while Paul Tibbitt's were more fantastical, but they both have the exact same absurdity to them that has me coming back. To me, Spongebob is Spongebob. (Except for the spinoffs because they actively go against Stephen Hillenburg's wishes.)
