Six months later she was dead---this was at the worst period in her life and Sam Brody who was beating her frequently is hovering over her----moments like this show what a kind and compassionate person she truly was. The day before she was killed she was visiting soldiers at Keesler Air Force Base---no one ever talks about the good stuff tho.

Jayne Mansfield lived at least six full lifetimes and had talents for many more. How many people do you know can play the piano, the violin, act , sing and dance . Bring up 5 beautiful children and to leave us at such a tender age Is a tragedy beyond words ! God bless you Jayne wherever you are 😊

My understanding is she was brilliant. She knew quite well what image she put out, and used it effectively (I'LL say!) to gain fame. I had never seen this side of her, though. Brilliant and emotional. Her loss was our loss.

One of the most beautiful actresses out of Hollywood ever, shows her compassion for wounded US soldiers in Vietnam, at a time in this country, the USA, when these young men were held in contempt because they were serving in the Vietnam war. She apparently didn't care at all about what the current day [1967] politically correct college hipsters thought, who avoided the draft and Vietnam with their parents money, who put them in college, to get draft deferments, and then acting as if they were "morally superior", by protesting the war on the many college campuses around the USA. At that time in US history these poor and working class young men were not held in high regard by the very vocal and hostile upper middle class left wing college extremists, who never missed a chance to get their faces on TV news to express their contempt for these young soldiers, which the so-called US mainstream news media never hesitated to broadcast. God bless Jayne Mansfield.

Omg she is actually showing real emotion and vulnerability. So sad she would die in a horrific car crash in a few months after this interview. She also looks different without make up and just real....the booze really messed her physical beauty up. But she will always be beautiful to me. In this interview she showed real empathy and sadness and let it all out, so refreshing. She would be so proud of her daughter Mariska Hargitay, who is a extraordinary actress and has won so meny Emmys. I'm sure she is so happy where ever she is, she is so proud. But her legendary legacy lives on.

I was in 1st grade when Jane was a rising star.....we had to do a drawing of who you wanted to be when you grew up. I drew high heels with furry pom poms on the toe of the shoes and a very tight dress on a well endowed figure. Jayne had a wonderful voice, such a pleasing quality to it. Though I don't care for the look she had at that time, even via television she had presence and charisma and was an intelligent, articulate speaker. Only four months later she and Sam Brody, the man sitting by her, would be dead also.

More than that, she had an IQ of 149 and was a member of Mensa, was multilingual and musically inclined. The bubble-headed blonde sexpot thing was a clever disguise (though maybe not the sexpot part so much, because she was a sensual woman and was sexually liberated). Such a fascinating person.

Wow! This is very revealing. Jayne was a very articulate and a gentle lady. Her sex symbol persona was just her act. So she was a much better actress then we thought. Jayne came to averybad end. Such a shame as she was a good person.
