I had 17 or so wolves at the start of year 3. 3 of my older pups left right after we got to the summer site. My subordinate that left was a favorite with all of my pups from the 2 litters after hers. I was sad that she decided to leave, lol. Plus side with a bigger pack is that den attacks are much easier.

You got a smaller litter because of Illness Off. With it off the max pups you can have is five! So this is a large litter with your settings.

I think the reason why your litter size is smaller is because you have a big pack, so smaller litter to balance the gameplay

@@ToshHangout Pack size does not affect litter size, only diversity and Youthful Prowess. Jay didn’t take YP as a perk for Age 3 so the chances for a larger litter were lower.

I wanna say that the dead wolf was one that you killed in the winter, though I'm not sure why it didn't despawn after you went into the next year. In any case I can't wait to see what these new four pups will be like as they get older.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of giving your pups their names after their first hunt, as it is a great honor to be able to hunt, and to be named. A name must be earned and approved by the pack, just as they need to prove themselves to a mate.

that’s so real I had 7 pups year one and kept em all alive (biggest not mistake mistake ever) and on yr 2 (now) I had another 7 soooo 🤷🏾‍♀️😭

The scent post memory is REALLY helpful. I like to mark where three hexes intersect and seeing the posts makes it a lot easier to keep track of where each “scent post area” is.

In my own game I have illness death on and my litters have been 7, lost 3 so 4,7 lost one so 6, and the newest is 6. 16 wolves not including my wolf and her mate, so 18 total. I’m hoping some 2 years olds leave soon. So many mouths to feed!

@wolftail2558 they'll try! I'm on my third litter of 7 pups (the first litter, 4 passed, second litter, 2 passed to sickness). Coyotes will definitely still try but they'll run away once they see all of the bigger wolves run right at them, lol!

@@sabersillygoofy depending on how big the rival packs are, pretty bad luck 😭 I'm fighting against Clover Creek in my save. They are a cruel 15 wolf pack that nearly wiped out my yearlings and pups.

This was my most difficult year in my game so far I don't have death by illness off and the game was determined to thin my pack.... Illness mystery death and new mega pack moved onto the map. More than 12 wolves jumping me as they had no home hex and moved in at the end of summer... Hopefully things go better for the wayfinders

I always use the same rendezvous site and i put everything like antlers skulls and human objects there under a tree, it's really fun to revisit every time because every litter always loves the toys lol

fun fact you can leave to the slough creek map and then leave into the amethyst mountain map. i think you can also leave the other two maps into each other

With Illness Off, the game doesn’t just say you can’t have more than five pups- it subtracts 2 from the litter you would’ve had. Aden and Raven would’ve had 6, but because of the subtraction, they had 4!

Oh, wait so yearlings and subordinates going into the den instead of the pups increases the flea load more? I didn’t know that I had to move dens twice and I nearly had to move out of the second one cause the flea load was so high and I just kept seeing one of the yearlings go into the den also yeah I know just being around the den increases flea load and more wolves around the den even more but I didn’t know it would go up to the point i nearly had to change dens twice

My first year I had seven pups and managed to get four of them through in the end I only lost one to illness, another one was taken by a stranger wolf and the last wandered off while the rest of the pack was asleep and disappeared. I'm about Midway through my second year and I have another litter of seven and I've only lost two. Sadly I did lose one of my yearlings though, she was so fierce I couldn't get her to back down from hunts even when I woofed at her and the hunt was difficult. Afterwards there was a den raid and the enemy pack managed to kill her because her health was already low 😭

Yeah, once i get better computer (long overdue for upgrade) this def gon a eb 1st new game. Been waiting for game have ability have pack grow through generations. Am curious to see what happens when you die of old age as pack leader. Do you pickup as one the subordinates an find new mate to continue pack? Do you start over as new wolf an your old pack now rival pack? Am very curious to see.

Hey! Anyone know what happened? I was in the Growing Pups season with my 7 pups (idk how I got them all to that point tbh-) and then one died due to "unknown causes" I thought maybe they got lost and I never realized and therefore didn't retrieve. However, soon, another one of my pups died to "unknown causes" and I knew for a fact she never got lost. So yeah, anyone know what happened? (The specific wording went: "Your pup _________ is gone and died due to unknown causes")

That is the unknown death. It was added with lethal illness turned on because, otherwise, the game would shorten your pack instead by having you painfully watch a pup die by sickness in seconds. That isn’t a glitch, it’s just because you need smaller litters, from how the game is working now. You have the power to say “oh my pup ___ wandered off while the pack was sleeping,” or something like that. Private testers hated the lethal sickness painful death in minutes or whatever, so we have that. Don’t worry, its not a bug, its just an implement of a pup dying for whatever you really want, i guess. I hope this cleared things up, i kinda rushed this so i may have repeated things once or twice. I was playing on steam deck and I had two glitches where the pups in growing pups were frozen with bones and then they started spinning I reported them and then tried to close and reboot the game because the glitched pups wouldn’t reset and were starving but my whole save got wiped…. I lost two whole litters of progress

the pups disperse when they're ready. there is no setting for it, since it is random.

2:47 having a four star diversity does NOT mean you will have a larger litter. You definitely have a higher chance of more pups but it doesn’t mean you will.

Quick question. What do I do if when I play wolfquest, there is no damage bar when I hunt? Even when it is turned on in settings and I do latch on the prey for a while.

report it as a bug. thats unfortunately the best you can do, and the devs will look into it to fix it. hope this is some what helpful

when females get older, it's more of a chance to have a smaller litter. Younger females will most likely have the largest litter. Also just to make the rp more fun could you correct the wolves? Just like cascade maybe a high tail or a warning snarl. But more realistic :)

Remember when one of your pups bit a BEAR? Was it sick? Because if so i had a pup that was sick and got cured and was on 20% HP and bit a coyote i was biting... He is fine, but scared the CRAP out of me.
