Having yearlings and subordinates is such a big help even though having more mouths to feed is another challenge. With my first litter I started with 5 pups and by the time I finished young hunters I was down to 1 surviving pup and even lost my mate to a rival packs sudden attack. Now my wolf kills all stranger pack wolves that enter the territory. I ended up killing off 2 rival packs and so far only 1 new pack has been established in their place. It's pretty wild to see all the dead wolves on the known wolves page and knowing my pack caused nearly all of them.

Good thing the yearlings can help in the hunt. Definitely have been relieved to have help on my 2nd and 3rd years! Also I love watching them run together and getting to see them grow in personality and looks. Another reason to name once the pups complete their first hunt ^^ Rooting for all 4 pups ^^

Hey Jay! I recently found out that before proceeding to Growing Pups, stashing food is rather helpful because (from my experiences) the prey isn't like at peak peak health yet and it's a bit easier to hunt. Another thing is that herding a cow elk straight to the rendezvous site and then moving to Growing Pups is VERY helpful too. Hope this is useful! ^^ Edit: I forgot to add that you could also herd an elk somewhere in the home hex/close to the site if it's too difficult to get them to the site directly. Then mark it, abandon the rendezvous site and go to the carcass, and once the pups are full go back to the same site. I usually do that when the pups are around 50% hunger. It's pretty easy especially that now they can run with you! PS: This suggestion is for when you're on the Growing Pups quest already. :)

the fact you never right click n lock onto your enemies gives me such anxiety XD ya don't gotta give em such a wide berth cus it just gives them time to run in and attack! also a good tip is to sort your favorite emotes and learn the hotkey so you can woof as quick as possible, even when they're all still in the grass i keep woofing to keep em in longer even when the predator is still near. i actively go in for the attack when bears n wolves come over. if its a pack i target each to find the lowest health and focus kill that one, itl make the rest of the pack run instead of trying to wait on them all filling the yellow bar, just focus n kill 1 n itl be done then you can chase n pick em off if needed. as for bears just gotta time ur bite to defend ur packmates from the bears lunge n swipe etc, but grabbing it to stop it running into the pups especially when ones still out the grass, gotta stop it as much as possible while growling n filling that bar but the bears are the worst honestly they're so stubborn. just gotta get good at circling while locked on, growling and reading its moves when it spins round or goes to attack etc so u can dodge, and grabbing its legs to keep it in place as much as possible to give urself more time. also for hunting, depending how far way the herd is i pick my target, weaken it a tad but then hang back and run it back towards the den/rendeveuz so we can kill it much closer just for more efficient feeding to save on time running across the territory.

@@AmberFergusonHTK The target lock-on is relatable XD I sometimes need to abruptly change which wolf I’m biting and I start struggling with the keys, and then usually am late. It stresses me out a lot because I can’t bite properly without locking on either- ;-;

@@CrystalRoses893 the amount of times id just run past the one i wanna bite cus i wasn't locked on X'D i know the feel haha! also its a necessity in hunting too to keep track of what elk ur going for when they get further away or amongst the herd, i always use lock on. it just makes it so much easier, but she genuinely has my blood pressure going up sometimes when she has encounters n just doesn't do it ever pff

if you kill both of the leaders the rest will become dispersals so it does technically end the packs existence. their home hex will be gone and their territory will slowly die off in strength til it disappears n gets replaced when a new pack moves in

I just went through a first year growing pups with 4 pups, my wolf with a major and minor jaw injury, and my mate with a major leg injury and a penchant for eating all the pups food before they could, and somehow everyone survived (lucky bison carcass one hex away helped immensely, though I spent the entire period slowly going back and forth bringing them scraps of it and anything else I could catch lol)

When I find them I grab them and run away from the battle so their safe and the yearlings will still fight. I know, cowardly but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep the pups alive. Killing a pack leader doesn't necessarily mean that the pack will disband. The other pack leader can get a new mate and continue the pack. Packs are much more likely to disband if you kill both pack leaders.
