Original recording? Lol,, no Shug not even close. Well it was written by another two people it was originally recorded and released in 1967 by Frankie Valli and the four seasons I know because in 1976 at the age of six when I got my first stereo for Christmas that year it was on the radio all the damn time even almost 10 years later. And between then and now about I don't know 20 or so covers have been done most of them really really awful until the mid-2000s when the Norwegian hip hop Duo, Madcon, did there awesome cover and that's when the rap lyrics were first added with their rendition of the song and made it a hundred times better than the original. Because the original has very dreamlike ethereal quality to it even with the funky beat that it has which you should really go listen to cuz it's it's fabulous! But then Maneskin comes along making one of their big song contest show debuts in the 2017 x Factor Italia contest or sadly they placed second behind some solo crooner, and it's from this show where their judge gave them this cover to see where they could go outside their comfort zone because they came on the contest as the rock group that they are and now that they've had a few years before me at live there's so many new tiny inflections in the song that even still make it better than one even this band originally recorded it.

@@JayRuller_ - The original IS great, and I still dig the Madcon version that practically every Millennial kid in Europe grew up listening to, but then Maneskin. WOO and OMG! Did you like both of these as well?
