Hi everyone and welcome to my channel. If you’re new here, my name’s Rachel and I’m a musician, Eurovision fan and general music lover. Today I reacted to Italy’s hottest property right now, Måneskin, and their arresting single ‘Morirò de Re’, my goodness what a song! Every time I listen to them, they get better and better.

2:00 actually, make up was 'invented' for men. From the beginning, within tribes, males were always the most flashy, performing dances and rituals, even in the animal's kingdom males are more pigmented (or adorned) than females, and therefore more beautiful. Mini skirts were invented for males (roman soldiers made them popular), same for jewelery, and heels were used by men to ride horses and have a grip on the brackets. So...men are supposed to wear heels better than us, doing makeup better than us, wear shorter skirts better than us. We just forgot it. :)

I love that English people like me are going insane over a band who make songs in a language other than English, we as a country are so resistant to music sang in other languages and a band singing in Italian smashing into the UK mainstream is unheard of! Måneskin should be really proud of what they have done, I need all the music now, all the languages, I have personally started looking into several other Italian bands to see what I have been missing this whole time and I'm having so much fun.

Enormous names like Fabrizio De André, Franco Battiato, Francesco De Gregori, Lucio Battisti, Vasco Rossi and many many more. I love Måneskin reactions! And it makes me very happy and proud that finally an Italian band is getting international recognition, it rarely happens and they deserve it. As a bilingual Italian/English, I confirm. It's "I'll die AS king", not "i'll die like a king". Google translate still damaging lyrics to this day.

Mantenendo l'esempio della canzone, Like (che in un altro contesto significa anche "piacere"), significa che morirai come/da re, I'll die like a king. Questa frase sottintende che non sei un re, morirai solo in modo simile ad un re. As è più forte, I'll die as king significa che morirai da re, essendo un re, non solo come qualcosa che gli assomiglia.

Nice to see you checking that out, I love this music video (I'm lucky to not have a problem with snakes so was nice seeing Ethan with them in this - but I get it that many people are afraid), I love the song and I love that they expressed their disregard of gender norms since 2017 or sth that this video was made, having that consistency to where they stand through the years and the messages they communicate with their songs and videos , really shows that they're obviously not doing things for publicity or whatever (that sometimes we may see with some contestants in contests like Eurovision) but are rather just themselves and doing what they love and believe. All their songs are so good, I can't wait till they have a tour around Europe and maybe why not the whole world, as you said and that's how I feel about it too, we really have been missing out on Italy for so long and musicians from Italy are so underrated, maybe finally it's time we appreciate the good music in non-english speaking countries more and give it as credit as it's english- speaking equivalent has been having all these years . Anyways, hope tou react to more from theirs and who knows you may even see me in the front row in a show in England(while I'm Greek... but also being broke, well maybe not lol, we'll see).

"Morirò" means "I will die". "To die" would be "morire" "Die(!)" would be "muori(!)" In Italian you usually don't specify the subject because it's not needed unless you're going to add emphasis. This is the case because of how much inflection the verbs have: Unlike English, every person of every tense has its own super specific unambiguous verbal termination so you can discriminate among them with zero ambiguity whatsoever without ever explicitising the person. This causes every Italian verb to have about 95 different affirmative variations depending on the tense, as opposed to the English 16 (die, dies, died, have died, has died, had died, would die etc.). Learning all those terminations is the hardest part of the language but it gets even harder than that: While English has a universal set of rules which applies to all verbs, Italian has three. They're called "conjugations" and the result is that you first need to know which conjugation the verb you're dealing with falls into, then apply its rule accordingly. This means that there are 95 terminations shared by the all the verbs of the first conjugation; then other 95 terminations for the second; and the same for the third, for a grand total of a gazillion variations basically.
