Miss my old sn95s my black v6 looked the part but was SLOW and my old White SVT cobra when I was 24 on classic insurance was great fun especially as 300hp was quick in those days even more so in n.a form. Will be watching this build

Good parts choices, 1000 BHP should be no problem for this setup. I made 764 whp on a stock bottom end/head LS1 with that same cam shaft, and a truck manifold turbo kit using the PTE 7675 CEA turbo running around 1.17 bar of boost (17 psi). I'm pretty sure shipping and turn around time would kill you, but Tick Performance offers a pretty reasonable T56 upgrade service. Good luck with the build!

The biggest hold up on manual LS builds is the gearbox. thats a LOT of torque to manage.

Gearbox wise, consider the 6 speed BMW 335d box! Its bulletproof and cheap! Look up ‘overboost racing’ from Denmark, he had one in his former drift mx-5 which had a turbo LS!!

We've used the 530d box in our S15 & 1jz R32 for the last few years (same box). They are great, but the R32 has shattered one in half at 600hp.

lasse2071 thought about it but what clutch? My main worry is if the box isn’t all that and you start smashing them where do you go from there? at least if I’m using a T56 there are clutches and upgrades available that will 100% be man enough.

335d came in automatic only. The GS6 53BZs in the 335i are quite strong and will take a lot of power. I’ve fitted a Grannas Racing T56 magnum gearbox to a mk4 supra, the T56 is just bigger and better than any BMW manual box I’ve come across. Jay - bite the bullet and go for the T56 magnum you won’t regret it! The shifter is like a rifle!

71mm turbo......my mate Richard Holdner tells me that a 75mm turbo is the small one.....! Don't forget your fancy clutch to take all of those pounding feets of torque....that'll make the T56 magnum look like good value!

It's a shame you couldn't find a Terminator Cobra. 03 04 SN95. I have the 08 Shelby GT500, S197 chassis. But they are fun anyway. Cool vid guy's.

@@JayDontGotThis The bottom end is built way better on the 03 04 Terminator. Plus the stock Eaton blower it comes with only needs porting to see over 500hp. My Shelby has the iron block 5.4 with the 2.3 ltr VMP TVS. Some other bolt-ons it makes 716 wheel. on pump gas. I don't know if they made it overseas though. The Shelby I have was 24 k, Terminators are 18 to 20 k. I am sure that sn95 was not even half that. And the 2valve is pretty cheap to work on.

Did you think about running an BMW Diesel M57 gearbox with an adapter plate (from PMC Motorsport e.g.)? Should theoretically be able to withstand the torque and would save a lot of money.

I have one in my S15 & we had one in the Driftworks 1JZ R32. That split in half though, they're not as indestructible as people think. I'll see if Jay has thought about it though as they are certainly cheaper!

I have it’s just realistically going to still cost the best part of £3000 with a clutch by the time it’s in the car. There’s still the question mark of what clutch to run and then if you start smashing them all that money is gone and you’ll have to buy a magnum anyway.

What you need to know ? I got a cam in my ls1 . It’s easy to find whatever info you need on ls cams. The guy doing all the videos is ‘Richard Holdner’ but he’s not going into specifics on cam specs. What motor do you want a cam for and what do you want/need from it ?

Have you not looked in to the Getrag V160 they can take one hell of a beating and you can pick one up for as little as £1,000. And remember it's not horsepower that kills gearboxes.

Not that I can see. There's a rebuild service for £1200 if you already have the gearbox. I'm happy to be wrong, but V160 Supra 6 speed boxes went absolutely mad about 8 years ago. Cheapest I've seen since then is £3,500ish & that was a long time ago.

It's an ACS Z4M Coupe. I had to buy it to get my V10 M3 back. It's got a blown engine & was stripped ready to be caged so it's in many many pieces. I need to get around to selling it at some point.

There's not a lot to see unfortunately. Its 80% disassembled with a blown engine. I had to buy it to get my V10 M3 back from Germany.

The S471 should make 4 figures on a 5.3, the same turbo but 67mm made 1040bhp on Scott Cartlidge's 4.3ltr 3UZ. BUT if you want bigger, I've got 2x billet 80mm BorgWarners here if you want one! The ones off a HST! These things. Jay Don’t Got This with enough boost I’m sure it will. Usually the reason for these massive turbos on these big capacity lumps are to get enough turbine wheel, but that fucker has plenty. 1000 wheel nah, but fly, yeah if you got the boost number for it.
