Hey Jay, grats on reaching 100k subs! Ya know, given the downward slope of your yard under this deck addition, you could have stepped the new deck down 2 steps from the original deck. This would have completely eliminated any need to do anything with the original deck it terms of tying new deck joists into existing deck joists, just secure a ledger down 12" (for 2 6" steps down) across existing deck perimeter and hang new deck structure from the ledger. Would also have saved you lumber of your new deck support posts, as well as lowered the new deck railings 12" below existing deck railings, thus opening views from both the house and the existing deck across new deck to the yard beyond. Would also have created a discrete "room" comprised of the new deck addition. Just a thought.

If you try a Rode wireless mic, you can get rid of almost all the clipping on your audio, which would up the production value massively. The wirelss go connects to a gopro with the media mod, so you wouldn't have to match up the audio either.
@CurtisBotzer12 сағат бұрын
I was trying to think of a constructive way to say this. Love the channel, but man is it distracting when you hear clipping or big changes in the dynamics of the audio.
@johannes.f.r.59 минут бұрын
@CurtisBotzer Yes, exactly. I always look forward to the videos, but sometimes it gets a little distracting. It's just a shame that something that is so easy to fix is so detrimental. Nobody is expecting a Hollywood production, but getting the basics correct will help keep the focus on the content.

Say hey, Jay! Hmmm my notification didn't work on this video. It appeared on my notification page, but it didn't have the pop up icon on my screen. That was weird. Glad I didn't miss it.😊 Congrats on the 100K if I didn't give it earlier. You might want to explain the 6-8-10 thing. I already knew it was a reference to making a 90 degree right angle using a ratio of 3-4-5. So six feet down one side, eight feet down the other, and ten feet from the ends of the two measurements going across. So is Ray helping on his day off from the goodness of his heart, or are you at least buying him lunch?
@terencemerritt15 сағат бұрын

I LIKE WATCHING BOTH PERKINS AND JAY'S WAY, """"""""THANKS""""""" FOR STEPPING UP JONES !!!! ITS ALWAYS MORE FUN/ INTERESTING WHEN YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1 OF THE OTHER KNOWN CHARACTERS FROM OFF OF PERKINS TO MAKE THE SHOW !!!! JONES IS A GOOD GUY AND ALSO FUNNY !!!! LOVE WATCHING BOTH SHOWS !!! I WILL SAY 1 THING I LIKE BETTER ON JAY'S WAY IS HIS MUSIC !!! I DON'T CARE FOR THE CHOICE OF MUSIC ON PERKINS SHOW! THE PERKINS BOYS ARE YOUNGER THAN ME, AND IT SHOWS BY THEIR MUSIC. I HATE WHAT I CALL MONKEY MUSIC. ITS CONTEMPORARY YOUNGER JUNGLE ROCK. I THINK THAT THE PERKINS BOYS HAVE BEEN TRYING/ OR LISTENING TO MUCH TO THEIR KIDS MUSIC IN ORDER TO BE MORE CLOSE TO THEIR KIDS. 😊 IF I HAD KIDS I WOULD NOT LET THEM TOUCH THE MUSIC DIAL ON MY RADIOS! NO ITS LED ZEPPELIN, BOB SEGER, JIMMY HENDRICKS, ECT. 60'S, 70'S, SOME 80'S FOR ME. AND ALSO SOME REAL COUNTRY STUFF THATS A LITTLE OLDER! I DON'T LIKE MOST OF THE NEWER COUNTRY. ITS KIDDY CRAP !!! I DO LOVE THE CONSTRUCTION AND THE HUMOR! I THINK JASON IS THE NUCLEUS OF THE HUMOR. 😊❤
