Cracking video so good to see what an a1 can do in the hands of a skilled photographer, I get fed up on Facebook when folks moan about not getting all their flight shots sharp and blame the equipment

Great video and tips. It's a nightmare when your settings have changed and it's not obvious which one! Or you get home and realise you have done a whole session but forgot to change one setting before you started. I love and appreciate your videos and the work put into production. Cheers :-)

Good video. I like how you analyzed that a Jay can hold at least 5 peanuts. Most people wouldn't think of that. Nice job 👍

Fantastic info, footage and stills. Agree that acorns look better, a more natural food item. A couple of times I have wondered why my camera just won't focus and then realised I have knocked a little dial on the front from C to M - therefore it was wanting me to manually focus, which I never do. Even though I had done it before I still couldn't work out what was wrong when it happened again. I am hoping it will now be ingrained into my brain.

It's good you mention the camera used so people can see what it's capable of. Sometimes you see a nice video and want to know what camera and lens the KZbinr used but frustratingly they don't disclose it.

Thanks Mike. Amazing photos and some great tips - as ever. I am a Nikon man with major investment in kit so cannot afford to switch to Sony, however, I do have the new Z9 on order which is also supposed to be amazing so am looking forward to trying something like this. In the meantime I will have to make do with more mundane photos and videos such as one I posted of a visit to Pulborough Brooks two days ago!!

I sometimes get really annoyed by those locked dials on my D750 because it's just a nightmare to turn them with my left hand when I'm holding a large zoom. But then again I also manage to turn them by accident unnoticed sometimes. Maybe sometimes I think mode selection should not be on those dials at all.

Hi John, All winter the Jays come in mostly from the right. I am making up numbers, but lets say in 3 hours I get 20 visits, 15 from the right, 10 times they land on the right hand tray and 6 times they fly from the right tray to the left tray. That would be a good success rate. Especially as the Sony A1 gets it right almost 100% of the time.

in my location, SONY is responsible for the LARGEST camera migration known. Flocks of new users. Where we used to see only 1 or 2 users in the field, now, almost 1 in 3 pax is on a SONY. what about in your location ?

I've always seen more Canon users than any other manufacturer and now see a lot of R5s, I guess partly because you can use (adapted) EF glass with them. I think the UK price of the A1 (£6.5k) plus another £1.5K+ for the 200-600 puts people off switching but I do see a few people with the a9ii + 200-600. I switched (from Canon) over two and a half years ago and I'm yet to see another Sony user with a 600 F4.
