I would love to see a video going over diapers you’ve gotten rid of or the stash your donating and reasons why. I’m intrigued why some might not have worked out for you! 🤔 great stash!!
@JaysNest3 жыл бұрын
Tbh, there’s no specific rhyme or reason why some diapers were donated. I’m really tired of the Alva style diapers so a lot of those were donated (includes Nora’s Nursery). But my stash is huge and there are a lot of families who are in need of diapers during these times. I have diapers loaned out to 2 people atm, so my stash is big enough lol. As I was prepping for this video I realized that I could donate diapers that I don’t reach for as often. See, my girls are getting older now. Both are toddlers and not all OS diapers are truly OS. They don’t always fit up to potty training. So some diapers aren’t fitting great anymore which is suspected lol. All of the diapers I’m donating have worked well for me at some point. I’d just rather see them get use at the Cloth Option 💖

I'm buying twenty five pocket diapers with inserts and prefolds for a friend's new baby (once the baby is born), and I am learning so much about cloth diapers I thank you for that. The baby who will receive this bundle of cloth diapers will have very little to no exposure to disposable diapers I will feel good that this is the case for this child.

The last friend I loaned to ended up not sticking with cloth. Her husband was a stay at home dad and he hated cloth 😢 so they just sent the diapers back. Sadly, no feedback on those. They just used the nickis covers with prefolds and the lalabye newborns I had.

Wondering if you like Bumgenius and why you may not have those? I see the Elemental Joy there but curious about if you’d recommend Bumgenius?
@JaysNest3 жыл бұрын
I have Bumgenius actually, but it’s put away in a basket. Almost all of my BG is cracked. So I do not use them. They wear down really quickly. The oldest diaper I have from BG is 6 years old and it’s in rough shape. I used it for 4 years with 3 kids. However, they started to wear down after 6 months of use. Elemental Joy has held up better. They’re owned by the same company but use different fabrics. I’m not sure if they go through different manufacturers but my Elemental Joys have been used since 2018 and they’re still in great shape! I use them regularly, too. Also they’re a better price. I want to love BG. The design of BG is the format of my ideal microsuede pocket diaper (though I do love athletic wicking jersey too).

Now I'm up and about, doing diaper laundry and all.

I sold my newborn diapers right after we were done. I regret it not because I plan to have more kids, but would have loved to do what you do & loan them to friends
@JaysNest3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can keep your OS stash to loan out when you’re done diapering. It’s truly fun to loan to friends who want to try cloth. You do have to factor in when people don’t give the loaner stash back or sell off your diapers. I had 2’friends do that back in 2015 😞 I had roughly $500 worth of diapers sold off by them which is a bummer.

Yesss I reallyyyyy want to know what your thoughts on Nora’s Nursery diapers are!!! They fit my chunky 15lb baby very well and the elastics tend to be the gentlest on her. However, I wish they came in an AWJ option 😣

The inners of NN got pilly after 1 wash lol. I’ve heard mixed reviews from other people that the elastics relaxed quickly. I haven’t had that experience yet but i rarely reach for them lol
@HudsonValleyFamilyDoulas3 жыл бұрын
@@JaysNest Oh yes. I have noticed that they get pilly super fast too 🥴 Hmm 🤔 Do you have any recommendations for gentler elastics that don’t get relaxed to the point where it’s ridiculous? Sadly the video is still on my old laptop. I have so many videos and clips of things from the past 3 years between 3 laptops. If I could figure out a way to get those videos off of there then I’d have a lot of content to push out, the moby being one of them lol. Nothing fancy with the Moby though! I just cut them in 24x24 squares, some are 24x25 in. No sewing. ☺️ Measure and cut- that’s it! Super simple. don’t stretch the fabric as you cut though
@millao21903 жыл бұрын
@@JaysNest thank you! What you think about absorbency of them? And are they still in good condition after some use 😊
@JaysNest3 жыл бұрын
@@millao2190 they’re definitely more newborn/infant sized. Worked great by itself during the infant stage. I use it with 2 hemp inserts and the diapers are still trim! My girls wet more in the front so I don’t have an issue with the length of it, but if you’d need more absorbency in the back then I could see an issue with them. If you have a heavy wetter then this could also be a nice way to boost diapers as well💗 I only paid like $5 for mine and I think I got maybe 6 flats out of them 🤔 (if I’m being honest I forget 😂 but it’s something like that lol)
