Thank you for making this video! I've tried looking for a video like this months ago! Could only find one blog post with pictures :/ I am in Flat Cloth Diaper Love and have been wanting to make DIY stretchy flats but I've been scared. I am not good at cutting. I want square flats, but I'm afraid I'd end up cutting a rhombus.
@JaysNest6 жыл бұрын
I was certain that these would be rhombus shaped but they're all surprisingly more square than I thought would be possible, especially with the technique I used. Rotary scissors will help a lot! Also using the edge of a cardboard box makes for some straight lines, at least from what I've seen.

I think I'm going to have to make my own flats. This is helpful :) My baby was born 11 pounds and is now 27 lbs at 4 months old.. No flats I have bought have been big enough and he still got a lot of growing to do. Maybe 35 × 35? Haha this baby is making me have to go through so much trial and error.
@JaysNest5 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried a flat bigger than 30. Lol 30 was big enough for my 35lb toddler. And while your baby might be big now he will slim down as he starts to crawl. I wish I could give you more advice on sizing. You could always cut one that is 35x35 and see if you like it. If not, you could always cut it down smaller! You can’t add length to your flats once they’re cut but you can always cut them smaller ❤️
@brendabuenrostro82655 жыл бұрын
Jay's Nest that's so smart haha. Yeah I'm Getting used to trying things out now. So I'll make a few big ones and slim it down if necessary. Thank you :)

Hi Jay thank you for the video. I see in this video your baby is using these as if you would put a cover on them. I’m going to be using pockets , are these good with absorbency ? Also , would you keep the sizing the same for pockets ?
@JaysNest4 жыл бұрын
I use these with pockets mainly and I enjoy them. 30x30 is a bit big for my pockets imo. I’d probably prefer a 27x27 or 28x28 for just stuffing pockets with. I really enjoy the absorbency of these!
