@@Xsplotthat's why they have a shot clock, in the league I played in the last 2 years it was 2 minutes, and you got 2 timeouts per game, which were basically a 2 minute extension with coaching. Most of the better players didn't use timeouts even when they were snookered. Because at the level some of us were at nothing anybody said was going to make us do something different. You want to talk about games taking forever watching the lower ranked players go at it with all the lucky snookers and lucky safties 1 frame could last 20-40 minutes. But we only played one frame per match basically every match was a team round best of 13. Playoffs was race to 7. It was a fun time, but i don't ever want to watch 2 bad players duke it out in a who can miss the most shots.

@@330devans Of course there is luck in every game but in snooker not so much. The balls are rarely (if ever) smashed all over the table in snooker. In pool, the run of the balls is pure chance, the game is based on hope.
@330devans7 ай бұрын
@@Shytot-1 not in certain disciplines of American pool. I prefer playing 14.1 straight pool. Which is a called ball and pocket game. If you miss the called object ball and it rolls into a different pocket it isn’t counted and is put back on the table at the spot or nearest position from behind the spot. In snooker if your on a red or designated color and miss that ball into the intended pocket and goes in a different one, it counts. Also to straight pools opening break is played very similar to snookers opening break. There’s instances where you have to go into a pack or cluster of balls in order to continue your run. This is very similar to going into the reds and opening them up. Everyone that talks about pool only thinks of 9 or 8ball. 14.1 is the more comparable game and has a lot less luck than 9ball. I could guarantee if you take a snooker player that hasn’t played 14.1 straight pool and played a race to 150 points on a 9foot or better 10foot table with 4 inch pockets they would have a tough time and respect that game over the popular game of 9ball. Also don’t get me wrong I love snooker, watch it all the time, and respect its difficulty. I wish I had easier access to a proper snooker table.

@330devans7 ай бұрын
Earl has played in Chinese 8ball tournaments as well as other pros. They play on the tables given to them. Not all tables have forgiving pockets. To me the game of 9ball isn’t the best game. I’d say come play on a regulation 9 foot American table with 4inch pockets playing 14.1 straight pool at a race to 150 and see how you do. Tight pockets aren’t the only aspect of pool and it’s not some unattainable skill that only European players can do.
