Great job on the framing. I was a builder in the US NAVY SEABEES and I know self taping screws are not always easy! But you are very patient and are taking the time to do it right. Just think, you are building muscles. It is nice to have a strong man around sometimes, but there are also men out there that cannot do what you are doing, so keep up the great job!

I'm solo female too doing all the physical work on my van, I understand, it is very tedious work and need a lot of upper body strength for sure when doing even the self tapping screws, etc. I'm now almost near complete with my subwalls. Next will be my tire and gas walls to get them framed covered (already been insulated when I insulated the walls awhile back) and will also be resetting the original main van wiring in the midst. However, I'm so excited with you about getting those projects done in your bus conversion, I enjoy watching your videos as you go along with each project to be done. Take care, can't wait for your next videos, be safe and blessed, sending hugs love and prayers to you and your family too from me and my dad in Odessa TX 🤗💖🤗💖🤗💖🤗💖

If you have any? A couple of clamps to hold the 2x2 onto the metal while you are screwing it will help you out. :)

Btw, if you pre-drill a smaller hole those self tapping screws zip in a lot quicker with less force. You can “eyeball” the drill to make sure it’s thickness is slightly thinner than the solid portion of the screw...

You are finding ways to do what needs to be done. Is the way you are going about this part of the build the best way? I don't think that even matters. The important thing is that you have found a way that clearly works. You are a competent person. By the way, having done a lot of building, if I was doing what you are doing I would feel pretty pleased with the outcome.

Don't get discouraged. You are doing a good job on the project. Screws will start a lot easier if you use a small drill to drill a hole in the metal so the screws will start in easier. Driving those screws into the metal will build your chest muscles. Think what that will do for you.
