I’m sure you’ve considered this, but I’ll offer it anyway…. Please search for a certified RV inspector to go through all the systems. It costs $$ but well worth it. Saved me from some potential repair costs down the road. They will ask you to have the seller hook up the systems so that they can be fully tested. They will know what to look for such as potential water intrusion, generator function, etc…

A Chinook is the way to go. Those buses were a joke. The may have the room, but when you don't rebuilt the drivetrain, those buses are just junk. They're not meant for long distance driving. A Chinook are built especially better built, better suspension, better load, & it will last longer w/o the breakdowns those buses were having. Most Chinooks have a seamless fiberglass body, so you don't have to worry about rust or leaks. On top of that, you can get a suspension guy to put a 4x4 kit onto the chassis, & you won't ever have to worry about clearance of getting stuck in deep snow. Good Luck Jaylena. 😂The chassis is identical to school buses or Uhauls. They don't make a different one for RVs

Ever since you mentioned the Chinook i have been seeing them on FB market place and a rental sight this last week. Not a loy but a few in my area. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. My family of 4 drove a Chinook from Houston to Montana with camping all the way up and back and were very happy with it. (It belonged to our best friends.) I've always liked their looks. Best of luck on the timing of your sale and purchase.

I like the way it looks pretty easy to convert the couch into a bed. We have an RV and our teemage daughter sleeps above the cab, I sleep in a twin bed in the back, and the hubby sleeps on the kitchen table. He has no problem setting yp the table wvery night and taking it down in the morning, but it's really hard for me to do. He also doesn't mind sleeping on top of a blanket. I like to have a bottom sheet and a top sheet.

My first motorhome I ever bought was a Chinook the main thing you wanna look out for no matter what is make sure of no leaks in the roof. You will end up spending every penny you have if you get the wrong one do not fall for fixed leak Newly sealed roof any of that stuff that means there was a previous leak be very careful I had to spend a fortune fixing roof leaks I have a Winnebago now that was leak free until last week when I got on the roof to vacuum the leafs out of the vent and I stepped through the vent Pushing it clear through lol so five A minute vacuum job ended up being now having to replace the entire vent ha haha😢

The Chinook looks very similar to the Born Free. I was interested in the Born Free at one time, but my husband didn't want to buy used and the new ones were totally out of our price range. I'm looking forward to seeing your next adventure. A bathroom in an RV is a must when you travel with a child. Consider hiring an RV Inspecter. Good luck in your search.

Really like the body style and looks like it would be easier to drive/park. I do not know what is the right move for you, Jaylena...none of us do. In this video you mainly were showing and talking about cosmetics of the van. I’m familiar with real-estate. I have noticed over the years that young ladies like yourself come in a home and look at the cosmetics. Rather than the real components that make up the house. Please bring someone with you that can look what actually makes up the van that will get you there and back. I guess what I’m trying to say is the bones of the van. So you won’t end up with a nightmare of tows and a money pit. As I have seen young couples do with property. 😢 You talk about your tight budget that’s the last thing you need. I have always wanted a Chinook! I struggled to find one myself similar to the years you’ve been looking at and I simply could not afford a van so I bought a short school bus instead. I love my bus, but I think it’s horrible for long distance driving I hate how loud it is. Definitely not the most comfortable driving experience, which is my only complaint with the school bus 🤞🤞 it works out for you.

Be very careful of Guaranty RV in Junction City. In the past they had a reputation of a loonngg history of selling lemons. Particularly used RVs. Maybe they are different now but be very careful if you find a vehicle there.

Jaylena stay away from the triton engines from 2000 to 2010 the electronic brain in these things go crazy when it rains. We had one also my brother had one. Something some how gets wet all the gauges start jumping and you can’t get it to go over 40 miles per hour. My brothers truck with the same engine would start up by itself only when it rained. He had to disconnect the batteries every time it rained. Needless to say we called these things Christine
