Interesting that you were able to make it fit without elongating the chassis slot. I has to elongate mine to make it install correctly.

@ReadySetRC just sucks most KZbin channels that pop up for me are just people who throw parts at stuff with no knowledge for the hobby. No body teaches things. I don't take this serious it's a hobby. But if people are learning off me I'm going to do some more explaining on what it does.

I have done this on my Big Rock as I was sick of breaking slippers (even 7075 ones), slippers repeatedly loosening or having to crank slippers so hard I then broke driveshafts. All that pain has now gone with the centre diff. If Im honest the handling upgrade is minor. Im just glad the pain is over and it was a very very easy install. As shown the two additional holes on the chassis base are just where you need them - as if theyve been planning this for years. You just need to carefully use a countersink drillbit on them to then enable you to then use a countersink hex that will sit flat with the chassis.

Great to see this diff will fit on the 3s chassis 👍 To bad the arrma rumor mill turned this topic inside out on the forum's, just a lot of excitement for this mod. Great work Jay T, I was waiting for someone to get both cars on the bench and try this for sure. 👍👍

@ralphhondaman Жыл бұрын
@rudymartin3558 if you don't plan on speed running it I can see it to slide around. But speed runs you want it locked. The goal is not to over spin the front and that's what a center diff will do
@Shadows-RC Жыл бұрын
@@ralphhondamanTrue. There's no debating that. But, I don't know why people don't find straight line speed runs to be boring. It is! Corner carving racing and bashing is much more fun. Plenty reason for Arrma to make their 3s line with at least an option for that center diff. I think they will. Probably the 3s version would be plastic cup or something. They'd be fools not to, as the Slash has the option. Some have actually chosen to invest in the slash over the senton for that very reason.

Fantastic for those wanting to bash. However, since I'm seeing my Vendetta up as a speedrun car, I'll be replacing the stock slipper with a spool. Getting back to the center diff & transmission housing, with the center diff is the distance between the transmission case outdrive & front diff outdrive decreased (I'm assuming the answer is "yes")...and, if so, by how many mm?
@Nobz619 Жыл бұрын
If you setting your vendetta as a speedrun car I highly recommend staying away from the spectrum ESCs. They cut out too much at the high speeds even with the 160a ESC. All you need is a 6s battery and a mamba monster X and you’re in the 100mph club
@ninthislandrc Жыл бұрын
For now, I'll be using the stock ESC & motor...but, have already replaced the servo (ProTek 160BL), and will be swapping out the Spektrum Rx with Futaba, FlySky, or Radiolink, for now. Once I'm in the 90-100mph range, I'll be swapping out the ESC/motor for Castle...and, once I exceed 125mph, I'll replace the Rx with a Crossfire Rx (MUCH greater range...as in 'miles', not 'meters'), connected through the Radiolink RC8X. Right now, the plan is to run it mostly stock. I have installed the aforementioned servo (with aluminum horn), plus a KaniZ RC center driveshaft, CF center brace, and a few CF parts (splitter, chassis wideners, rear wing stabilizer, etc). I will be adding compression limiters to the shocks, possibly adding internal extension limiters...plus, I'll start playing with shock oil thickness. Not sure about springs, and whether (or not) they'll need to be replaced with stiffer springs. First round of 'real' upgrades will include a center spool, steel Mod1 gears, and an aluminum trans housing. Second round will include 17mm hexes & foam tires, and front/rear diff modules w/ CNC machined ring & pinion gears (even though they are discontinued, I found a hobby shop on the East Coast still having a few), mounted inside Hot Racing aluminum yokes - front w/500K, rear w/125K. Not sure when I'll add each...but, I've also got the Perfect Pass unit, and a Futaba gyro, to install.

I noticed u didnt use the centre driveshaft bearing and mount. I think because the kv2400 motor will be too wide on the 3s platform ive just fitted this to my senton 3s and can cofirm the centre driveshaft bearing support is touching the motor thats with the 3s motor kv3200 but it all fits and is only just touching the side of the motor can.

@@ralphhondamanthing is though its just a more solid design than the stock slipper unit no slipper screw comeing loose and the new caseing is alot better to stop rocks and dirt getting in plus u get metal spur gear. Ive just done it to my senton 3s. And think its worth it imo each to there own.

To me that's a pointless upgrade because you are not tuning the front or rear diff which most probably won't doing this mod. And the center diff is setup for the mojave. Fluid center diff is good for racing and thing else get a slipper eliminator. Lock it up front and rear. Save your money from this over priced mod. Best mod tune front and rear diffs. 50k front 30k rear or around there. Stops the front from ballooning.
@anthonypowers Жыл бұрын
There's more applications for a center diff, that's why all 6s and 8s cars from every brand come with them. They do an excellent job off-road due to all the uneven surfaces in which all the power can change from front to rear as needed. Not saying that for all 3s or 4s line cars that you need to do this. I think it's a good upgrade for powerful off-road rigs.
@ralphhondaman Жыл бұрын
@anthonypowers and every one I have like 6 I think and all the centers are locked. For bashing I don't feel like ballooning the fronts and I tune front and rear. And speed run cars you want them locked up.
@ralphhondaman Жыл бұрын
@anthonypowers and you're going to see guys do this swap which isn't the cheapest thing to do and put one million wt in and run it when they could spend idk around $30 and get a slipper eliminator with a steel gear and call it a day.
@JIPPERR_1 Жыл бұрын
Kind of interesting thing about the arrma 3s slipper is that the front and back can slip different amounts. The front and rear outputs arn't locked together on a single shaft.
@ralphhondaman Жыл бұрын
@JIPPERR_RC that is true. But they don't slip that offen. If they did them disks would be done in one run. So a fluid filled diff is cool. But if you're bashing the truck then you're doing this mod to just do it. Which it's your money go for it. All I'm saying is save the cash and just by a slipper eliminator. I've done it all to my blx3 cars and never looked back.
