Hello Mr. Townsend, I am a doctor who wishes to capitalize my medical insight on the health problems in the USA (health costs and affordability, obesity epidemic, drug abuse, rise in mental health and suicide, etc..). However, I always stumble on the financial costs to run a campaign. After reading your book "Fatal Mistakes Candidates Make and How You Can Avoid Them", one thing you mention is having enough resources. My question is, unless you are a CEO, have a super PAC, or have strong connections, how can the average Joe acquire the funds to launch and sustain his campaign. Great book by the way!

You overcome this by developing a network of people willing to invest in your cause. Mr. Townsend I need your help. There is a huge challenge -. The political landscape here in El Paso Texas is the majority of the constituents and voters are Democrats. Is it even possible for a republican to win the office of Mayor? Dee Margo won a couple of years ago (Republican) because incumbent Oscar Leeser (democrat) did not run that year. This year the candidates so far three of them are Democrats

Hey Mr. Townsend, you mentioned in a previous video how showing an education could help voters view you as a competent candidate. Im from Maine and luckily I have the opportunity to gain free tuition at a State community college due to legislation passed in response to Covids disruptions of school careers. It only an Associate's but i would like to make use of it. What Associate degrees do you think would be the most effective or educational for a young candidate?

You should get a degree in a subject you love, preferably one that allows you to get a job or make a living. Getting a degree is merely a credential that lets voters know you have your feet on the ground. There are many others. Raising a family, starting a business, writing a book, advancing a cause, serving your state or community in a leadership position. Jay
