Yeah, whenever I see "lazy devs" or "the devs don't care" my eyes roll into the back of my head so hard. The folks who spend multiple years working 9-5 making these games do not get to make decisions on microtransactions. But also, I get it. It's hard to separate these things. People should criticize these MTX, I know I have many times. I think we should do both -- criticize the bad stuff and praise the good stuff.

Everything looks decent, but the movement fluidity isn't there. You can see in some parts how the feet isn't touching the ground and kind of hovering over the ground etc and the parkouring didn't seem smooth.

I hope these things get ironed out too before launch. Mirage looked smoother on launch compared to earlier gameplay, so it's certainly possible. And 5 months is a long time for them to polish.
@mattswank4 ай бұрын
The only other thing I really hope we can get is that the city parkour is also refined more like mirage’s was where the pathways work and make sense and that even though this game is designed to be more open world, that the parkour emphasis is there for the cities, which you would hope since one character is more stealth focused. People have been waiting a loooong time for this game and they have already taken some turns that I would not have risked personally simply because of how long awaited this has been in the minds of their fans. But I will say having a possible 16 possibilities for every encounter is interesting and could be really cool and a nice way to mix things up (2 characters, day or night, 4 seasons=16)

This game really is strange. It looks like they put a LOT into this world and you can see that they went all out on making Yasuke a tank ramming through Shoji, tossing enemies around, Noae moving better than most other assassins, the world looking incredible. There are a ton of culture and architectural issues to the people familiar with the culture and the historical locations. This world is unmistakably a Western interpretation of what Japan was and not made from a Japanese perspective, which is a shame. But Ubisoft really made it beautiful and added some very welcome new mechanics to this game. Much respect and best wishes to the developers, and shame on the historical consultants and the pre-order and microtransaction team

I remember spending like an hour working through how to get to chandeliers to get across to the other side of a church in one of them, or the whole revelations path that lead to the underground city, would be great to see parkour dungeons return.

1:29-1:34 (NOT DIRECTED AT YOU JAYVEE) Of course she is, Naoe is a Kunoichi a female shinobi, Perfect for the stealth sections of the game. They were aassassins, scouts, and spies who were hired mostly by territorial lords known as daimyō and guess what Oda Nobunaga is in the game as well as Yaskue who served for him. IT MAKES SENSE. Not to mention her being a woman makes her unsuspecting and underestimated. Shinobi has meanings/connotations of stealing or hiding away hence it connection stealth. SO for those saying it should have been a Japanese Man i can see why they made one of the protagonists a Japanese woman.

But I will say the animations/choreography look far more polished than the past few entries and there is visual emphasis on stealth and what makes AC AC. If they can manage to make parkour fairly smooth and comprise a deep narrative that also adds to its story through side quests and world building I think this game has a lot of potential. Also Hoping they have a plethora of fleshed out urban areas for parkour, cause the open world rpgs tend to take you out of the original assassins creed gameplay loop dramatically.🤞

Why don't you got tell the Japanese devs of Nioh to take out "Obsidian Samurai" or tell the Japanese devs of Samurai Warriors 5 to take out Yasuke or tell the Japanese creator of Afro Samurai to delete that as well. Tell the Japanese creators of Guilty Gear Strive to take out Yasuke, tell them also to remove his statue out of Japan. AC has Gods and Godesses, Aliens, it has Da Vinci as a gadget boy and the Pope being a templar after 1307. AC is essentially a giant toy box for history buffs. It’s like taking the action figures you bought at the museum and mixing them with your Dragon Ball Z toys. In fact, casting Yasuke as a main character feels like the most “faithful” way Shadows is sticking to the series’ vision. It’s all about that toybox idea. Casting Yasuke as the main character lets Assassin’s Creed do exactly what it’s been doing for 17 years: find intentionally mysterious pieces of history ripe for expansion and embellishment. If you’re someone who’s hoping for historical accuracy from Assassin’s Creed, I don’t know what series you’ve been playing for 17 years. With all the historical inaccuracies in AC from characters to settings to architecture, its the casting of a Black dude that annoys you the most.

@@ryvaldoihma2814 there is… the racism disguised as “it’s not historically accurate” when they’ve used a real Samurai and it’s also a AC game which never has been historically accurate is just confusing. The way you guys cry over a colour is childish.

Ubisoft must be on a warpath due to Ghost…I’d love ❤️ to see AC do a modern day or even 1980s inner city American drug trade

This looks pretty interesting to me now. I am definitely going to keep and eye on this thanks Jay. I am a sucker for Japanese culture so I do have a bit of a bias when it comes to these. I’ve not been a fan of the recent AC titles or Ubisoft in general, but this actually really shows me the potential.

I really wished they put both of these characters together as one with the choice to build your character as you want cause I just want to play as an assassin not a samurai so they need to get the mechanics and story just right to get me to care about both characters cause as of know only want to play as onre

I hope that all is good with your family🙏 Stopped caring about new AC games since Origins came out but knowing that Japan is the setting for that one, I'm actually kinda excited? Never thought anyone would top Evie in stealth for me but we might have a worthy opponent.

This seems like a great game, but Naoe should not be a kunoichi. There was no record of any Assassin operating in Feudal Japan with her name, and for a series that prides itself on historical accuracy its ridiculous that you can use some magical extended blade on your wrist. Yasuke looks awesome though.

Yasuke rampaging in armor even though it's not a battlefield, a female ninja hiding her face with a sword on her back in broad daylight, persimmons in cherry blossom season, rice planting and harvesting, long-tailed monkeys, farmers wearing Vietnamese-style hats, music using Chinese instruments, people with shoes on indoors for some reason...I think the biggest problem is the unauthorized use of images of the Sekigahara Rifle Corps, a group that exists today to promote the town of Sekigahara. Until now, I was angry and saddened by the low resolution of the seasons, buildings, Yasuke, and Japan, but I never thought that they would not even follow the law. If this is the case, I doubt whether permission was obtained for the family crest used on the Yasuke figure. Sorry for the Google Translate.

i hope the hitbox and enemy AI is more responsive. after playing all the ac rpg series from origins to valhalla and ghost of tsushima. GOT is the best AC type of game one could wish especially the combat when u are swarmed by the enemies but they dont clip each other and feels like older ac but every skill jin had was useful. Combat was clean and basic at its core but wat impressed me was thecombat system. Its simple and effective yet still manages to have a high skill ceiling with the management of stance switching etc. I hope ac shadows can show more gameplay before the launch.

Sir I’m unable to give this a full watch right now but I want to ask, my problem with it is mostly that I feel uncomfortable playing as Yasuke, knowing they deviate from history so much and because I don’t want to make his decisions. But, I wonder if since it's not fully historical that i can let that go then. i also hate ubisofts greed but love history and this series

if "an Assassin's Creed game" is a game where the protagonist is an assassin, following THE assassin's creed, as opposed to them being a hidden one, then we haven't gotten "an Assassin's Creed game" since Syndicate. that game was released in 2015.. imagine that! it's been almost a DECADE since Ubisoft released an AC game focused on "the AC". very curious to see what they're gonna do story-wise with Shadows
@WayneTheAsianGuy4 ай бұрын
I hope Yasuke starts off not an assassin, but as the story goes on Naoe starts convincing him and even teaches him the leap of faith or something, in the cinematic trailer Yasuke already says assassin stuff tho.
