If Beyonce sang this song it would be on every radio 24/7 and that's sad. I understand the machine aka the industry and who they support but this girl can SANG and has substance in her lyrics. Support her!

no it would not.

+jaiizwaii89 I disagree, because the radio doesn't play Beyoncé's meaningful songs like Pretty Hurts and Heaven. If they wouldn't play Pretty Hurts, which has a similar message to Masterpiece, why would they play Masterpiece if she sang it. Yes, Jazmine Sullivan definitely deserves more credit and airtime, but there's also something wrong with the music industry, in the way that it continues to pump out meaningless songs about drugs and sex and all that, while pushing aside songs that can touch thousands of people.
@terrellwilliams22408 жыл бұрын
+Claire Moore Well tech yes they would. In defense to both artist. Because songs like this and even Beyonces inspiring songs are not leading singles, they will not get much airplay. If Jasmine had this as one of her singles it would get play

I love this song. I used to be very thin and gained some curves. People treated me differently and I started to develop concern on whether or not I was really beautiful. I love myself and embraced my figure and flaws without allowing a flawed society to pressure me into changing the me that I loved.... Empowerment is my mission.....

BET's audiences always iritate me because I feel they aren't showing the proper acknowledgment to the complete VOCAL OBLIVIATION in front of them. I'd be jumping up & down in church had I been in the presence of Sullivan herself.

Watching her perform makes me upset because it reminds me of how stupid the music industry is. She should've sold MILLIONS with a voice like that. But no! Cuz she don't shake her ass or use autotune, she sits on the backburner :I What is wrong with the world?! But anyway, great performance
@danieljaffen8 жыл бұрын
You know they didn't nominate her for ANYTHING for the Soul Train Awards but they asked her to sing....that REALLY pissed me off

+Will H The fact that she's black it's also a reason, look at Adele, she didn't shake her ass or use autotune but today is one of the icons of this generation. The world is messed up, my friend.
@willh86828 жыл бұрын
ZahedyR If you did a side-by-side comparison of both Adele and Jazmine, you'd see how similar they are. They both debuted around the same time and both have similar music themes, they both have released three studio albums and have been nominated for a lot of Grammy's, the only difference is that Adele is a white, multi-platinum popstar and Jazmine is an African American soul singer who is criminally underated
@paulsmith31288 жыл бұрын

Wow! That is all I can say. I honestly must say that I had my mouth dropped that entire time. I had to question whether it was real live or not. This woman is simply amazing, talented, and blessed by Jehovah God. Wow, wow, wow! I really have nothing else to say, her voice says it all. Why does real talent get suppressed? Jazmine is one of the best vocalist I've ever heard- period! I shouldn't be surprised; she's from Philly- like me. Does Patti ring a bell? These are two women who are amazing live. Not too many people are able to pull that off. Even some of the ones who we consider the greatest.

Wow, people are so negative. Instead of just UPLIFTING an artist and talking about this beautiful performance, there has to be comparisons and shade thrown at others. You talk about the attention that "others" get, yet you waste no time bringing their name up on someone else's vid. Which only brings the "other" more attention. THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!😍😍😍
