As a piano player theoretically this makes al much sense. What an amazing series!!! All I ever needed for Dominant 7th improvisation. Thank you forever.

Have to agree... music's all about the balance of consonant to dissonance, esp when improvising! It's important for the listener to be satisfied that they knew (maybe unconsciously) what was coming, or to be played, and to be surprised by what is played. It's about the balance between the two. Great lessons!

This series is gold. I primarily play trumpet but also play guitar and thinking of dominant chords as a ii (dorian) has unlocked the sounds i've had in my head which could now be associated with a scale. I knew you could play the dorian mode all over a ii IV I but never bothered to use dorian as a substitute for any dominant chord such as in the blues to get a jazzier feel. Thank you!

Extraordinary lesson :),all four parts are nicely explained,it would be also great to provide us some tabs with the chromatic licks and lydian dominant that you've played on the last two videos :D :D :D, not all of them, a few one would be nice, just to increase a vocabulary a little bit and to feel that scale movement :) Anyway, nice lessons, very inspiring and keep up the good work \m/ Wish you all the best \m/

ooops - bad grammar. I should have said "consonance to dissonance".
