After 50 brushes videos I found what I looked for. Incredible density of conceptual things in few minutes and examples. Thank you so much Tim. I have right exercites to practice now. Massimo

Downloaded the pdf, was hoping for some detail on where to strike and with which brush for these permutations?
@TimMetz3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for downloading the PDF! The Right hand is the top line the LH is the bottom line. As far as where to hit the drum, start with where your hand is in your time flow. Try not to disrupt your motion as much as possible. The idea is economy of motion. Hope this helps!

Hey Tim, thanks for this great video. Your traditional grip technique is very interesting when you sweep with your left hand. Could you give a brief explanation? Thank you.

Yes, I go more counter clockwise and like to turn my hand over to get a fatter sound with the brush on the head. Hope this helps!

I LOVE the sound of your Gretsch!! Can you please post a video on how you tune your bass drum? I NEED that kick sound 😂
@TimMetz7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Unfortunately, I don't really have a system for tuning other than using my ears and turning the rods until I like the sound. That being said, I might figure out a way to do a video on this anyway. Stay tuned!

Tim, awesome videos as usual! Just wondering if you recommend the left hand circle clockwise or counter-clockwise? In this video you're going counter-clockwise but on an earlier brush video you circle clockwise. Also, which do you think sounds better? Seems like more of the old schoolers went counter-clockwise.
@TimMetz7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Kirk! I primarily use counter-clockwise. It's just a matter of preference, I don't think one sounds better than the other. Being able to do both gives you options.

hi mate can u tell me what brushes u use ?
@TimMetz7 жыл бұрын
Igor Stankovic Sure, they are the standard Regal Tip retractable brushes, NOT the Jeff Hamiltons.

Tying to play what works for other drummers can be very frustrating. Just sit down and find what works for you. staccato hit at a say 35 to 45 degree angle. For a more legato feel lateral strokes. That is also great for getting doubles.
