can you please tell me the name of the virtual piano software used for teaching?
@francoranieri35895 жыл бұрын
Very good tune! It reminds me the old groups with Peter Erskine. May ask you what synth are you playing, is it a Korg M50?

Just demonstrating the various scales and an easy way to think about them. You can find the details in the summary. (Go to the link in the description of the video)

You could’ve explained how to find Phrygian by saying, “take a minor key and lower the second note in the scale by a half-step.”
@Gjermund-Sivertsen5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know. This is a common way that this scale is presented that works for some, but in my experience, it confuses so many. We all know the diatonic scale (major/ionian) and all the modes can be seen as diatonic scales. By using this method for all the modes, you can save a ton of time. I'll see if I can explain this in an upcoming video 👍🏼 Thanks for your feedback 🙂

Should really rename the channel name to something more memorable than the name of a website. People will remember it more rather than an URL. My opinion ahah
@Gjermund-Sivertsen5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I'll think about that. Suggestions?
@Solcius1231235 жыл бұрын
@@Gjermund-Sivertsen Simplest form is just your name. Like Adam Neely, Jacob Collier. You don't see them having "piano" or "music" in their channel name. This is why I think Aimee Nolte Music should remove the music in her name. It being there is useless for me. Not too disturbing but still, I believe things more simple can be more memorable. (We already know that she makes music) About your channel if I had to refer it to someone I would say "hey you should check out this amazing player on youtube", but I have no other ways of calling you, which is not desirable in my opinion. We don't have a great memory footprint if that makes sense. I saw your name a few times but way too seldom to actually remember it and stick it on your face. Jonny May too for example, just his name in the title. Easy to remember, and now at 200k subscriber, everybody can refer to him as ... Jonny May ! Gjermund Sivertsen, I had to dig in the video description. Maybe an issue of a tough Scandinavian name to pronounce ? If that's the case saying "Hey I'm Gjermund Sivertsen" at the beginning of every video, people will remember on how to pronounce it and that issue will not be one anymore. Jonny May, Rick Beato, Adam Neely, Aimee Nolte, they all say their name at the beginning of the video when they can. I don't know if they would do it on purpose but that surely leaves an "auditive / hearing memory" in the process rather than just reading it. Not a mandatory thing but really helpful in my opinion. Hope that helps ! Until next time.

I've tried so hard to like jazz but honestly it sounds really awful to my ear...been playing piano 20+ years...sound like my cat running across the keys..yuk...I'm obviously not cultured enough.. great video thought thanks for the scale tips and tricks xxx

Everyone’s taste is different. I’ve had the same experience with opera, some (but not all) classical music, death metal etc. I don’t think you can choose wat you want to listen to in the sence that your taste is what it is. It can change over time, but you can’t force a change over night. At least, that’s my experience 👍
