Jaco is mandatory for any jazz fusion bass player list
@SamIAm-kz4hg2 жыл бұрын
Yes. If it's got more than two names on it, one should be Jaco. Otherwise you just don't know your stuff.

You gotta put Gary Willis close to the top of the list.. he’s been one of the most amazing jazz bass players since early 80’s. He’s still shaking trees with his grooves and solo’s.
@alecmejia19604 жыл бұрын
anthony donofrio I definitely agree!!
@fabriziovincitorio93772 жыл бұрын
Agree...Willis got a great technique but, most of all, his harmonic concepts are many miles away from 90% of the others!!!

Hadrien Feraud is a player worth putting in the list mate!
@St3ph4n32 жыл бұрын
Yeah! Hadrien is incredible. Patitucci, Di Piazza, Caron, Hellborg, Bromberg, Willis, Lindberg the beast... Etc.

No Alain Caron or Brian Bromberg?

Do you see the contortion that Victor has with his left hand? It has caused him to have reinvent the way he plays the bass and he had to quit for a few years due to the carpel tunnel problem his style caused. It's why old time bassists always hung their bass down low and reached for it with their left hand straight out instead of bent....it's more comfortable and you can play decade after decade with no damage.

Man it's tough to see #numbers next to those names... Especially in that order! To me it's pretty clear that musically, Bona is well above all the other dudes in your list... And if Jaco is out some some reason (???), how about his son Felix Pastorius, or indeed Alain Caron... Hadrien Ferraud or even sicker within that style : Linley Marthe... All these amazing bassists from Cameroun living in France like Etienne Mbappe, Michel Alibo, and Bona... Or how about Henrik Linder?... Or how about showing us some that are less known but who are worthy of becoming more famous! There are soooo many... This "Top 7" is definitely missing a few hundreds of amazing fusion bassists!
@leedodson31363 жыл бұрын
Yes, Alain Caron. But I don’t think he said the best 7 fusion bass players. Just 7 fusion bass players!
@cab888883 жыл бұрын
@@leedodson3136 yeah... but Linley Marthe.

The majority of this was fret buzz and clanging and banging strings,hand tricks, every one of these guys are perfectly capable of playing Great stuff but they just beat the damn fretboard to death

I only hear very slight fret buzz which actually sounds nice and is practically unavoidable when playing that quick
